Comment:
The original North American DVD singles releases condensed the first 67 episodes down to 53 episodes. The first 17 singles released by Geneon Entertainment (then known as Pioneer) contained only the edited English dubbed version while from Volume 18 onward, they contained the uncut version with both the Japanese and English audio. This resulted in a final episode count of 276 out of 291 total. In 2005 FUNimation began to release the "Ultimate Uncut Edition" DVDs containing their uncut redub of the first 67 episodes, but this release was cancelled following the 9th out of 12 planned volumes for season one with season two having never been released. The full 291 episodes would not be released in their entirety until the nine uncut "Orange Brick" season set DVDs were released from February 2007 to May 2009.
