Birmingham Anime Film Festival Runs in September and October

The 2024 Birmingham Anime Film Festival has announced its line-up through September and October. The festival told ANN that it is also hoping to screen several more titles at the festival, but is still waiting for confirmation on them.

Some films will be screened at the Mockingbird cinema (directions), while others will be at the MAC Birmingham cinema (directions).

There will also be an English-dubbed open-air screening of Hayao Miyazaki's The Boy and the Heron outside the MAC Birmingham cinema (directions), on Saturday September 7 at 7.30 p.m.

Birmingham Anime Film Festival is organised by Birmingham-based media collective Geeky Brummie, Mockingbird Cinema and Midlands Arts Centre.

Thursday September 19

7.45 p.m. - Mind Game, directed by Masaaki Yuasa (MAC Birmingham)

Friday September 20

6 p.m. - Jujutsu Kaisen 0, directed by Sunghoo Park, pictured left. (Mockingbird)

8.10 p.m. - Redline directed by Takeshi Koike, plus "Never Seen" podcast. (Mockingbird)

Saturday September 21

3.15 p.m. - Metropolis, directed by Rintarō (Mockingbird)

5.30 p.m. - Cowboy Bebop: The Movie, directed by Shinichiro Watanabe (Mockingbird)

Sunday September 22

8 p.m. - Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, directed by Isao Nakajima and Tetsuya Nomura, pictured right. (Mockingbird)

Thursday September 26

7 p.m. - Pompo: The Cinéphile, directed by Takayuki Hirao (MAC Birmingham)

Saturday September 28

3.30 p.m. - Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection 'F', directed by Tadayoshi Yamamuro (Mockingbird)

5.30 p.m - Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, directed by Tetsuro Kodama (Mockingbird)
