| Because of the twelve female angels that make up this series it might be best described as a harem anime, however these girls want to protect him and get some affection in return, not get into his pants. Good character design, good animation, some well rounded characters, and a little talent from the english cast puts this show in the amusing pile, but having only 12 episodes this is a short fun watch, not long and drawn out. |

| This is a masterfully done series, some minor changes have been made from the manga, but I rather like the changes. The characters have depth to them you can relate to, and feel happy and sad for. The voice acting, both english and Japanese, is superb catching the right voice for each character and talent to match. This series has a good mix of humor and drama knowing when to be funny and when to be serious, but not overbearing. The underlying premise of how to feel about computers that look and act like people will make you think, though it may disturb some a bit. All in all, this is well worth the watch, and geeks around the world will long for the day Persocoms are invented. |

| First I'll say this is a very good anime, don't get me wrong, but this in my opinion isn't the anime made of pure gold that most veiwers seem to think. This anime is at it's best when there's no drama, which atomatically makes episodes 12,13,25,and 26 the lowlights of the show. Also, a few things near the end just didn't make much sense as to why they did it. However, this anime does have superb english voice acting along with smooth animation. |

| After you get over the fan service that is their everyday costumes you'll find a series that spends most of it's time just having fun, only towards the end does an actual plot develop. | Priestesses and Mecha, what a combination!! With this odd combination the show starts off on a cheesy foot and plods along that way for the first half of the series, then it plunges into melodrama for the rest, and the last episode is 80% monolog. The animation was good and vibrant most of the time, the Japanese voice actors were good, the English voice actors were decent, and the plot had a few unexpected turns, albeit with predictable outcomes. All in all, the uniqueness of this story at the beginning doesn’t last all the way though, but it’s still a fun watch. |

| I’m not a big Dragon Ball fan, it’s not a bad series, I just never really got into it. I know it well enough to say this; Evolution is a total butchery of the series. Hollywood took some of the concepts for Dragon Ball, then remade the Dragon Ball universe, and wrote their own story. As expected from Hollywood, great special effects and CG, good acting, and good choreography. Chow Yun-Fat plays his role well and Justin Chatwin makes Goku more normal then the character believes he is. |

| This series is probably best summed up as solid. A lot of the series I’ve been watching lately have been very flat and not very interesting, but I enjoyed this series and I’m not sure why either, there’s nothing all that unique about it. It centers around four high school classmates and their day to day life, standard slice-of-life stuff, you have the outgoing energetic girl, the shy polite girl, the rich cold girl, and the quiet girl who eats a lot. There are a number of other minor characters who are fun, but not all that unique either. All this points toward mediocrity, but surprisingly enough I was very entertained. A solid performance by the voice actors, good musical accompaniment, and good artwork and CG most of the time, though there were a number of places I cringed from the artistic shortcuts and shortfalls. |

| A short but amusing anime. Take Kei and Yuri from Dirty Pair, give them super strength instead of super gadgets, and make them defenders of Earth and you have Hyper Dolls! Clean animation and good voice acting, though I swear the same voice actor for Disney's Goofy did the english Mimizu-man. |

There seems to be more to the Su-Chi-Pai story then what is shown in this one episode OVA, so with that in mind if you don’t know anything about this series (kind of like me) then you’ll see only the one episode that seems to have a back-story and looks to be incomplete leaving off with only one tile collected. The English voice actors were decent, nothing great, but tolerable, but the Japanese voice actors did a good job (seems to be part of that whole series thing, reoccurring voices and all). All in all, If you know anything about Su-Chi-Pai then this will probable add to it, otherwise it’s got some good slapstick humor, but ends abruptly. Kenichi Sonoda, good job in character design again. |

| This Movie stars out looking like a standard Sci-fi film, and half way though turn psychological horror. Although I’m not a real horror fan, I like this one, I was so engrossed by how well it was done to not enjoy it. The art and animation it top notch, an excellent frame rate kept everything smooth, none of the usual shortcuts were taken. Another aspect I was quite enthralled by was the physics, true to real space, the ships had not real up or down, zero gee movement was accurate, the ship mechanics were well thought out, and (hark!) no sound during outer space camera shots. No roar of the engines, no decompression from thrusters, and no weapons shrieking. On a scale of one to ten I rate this as; Storytelling: 8, Freakiness: 5, and shear Impressiveness: 7 |

| Ah, Ken Akamatsu you’ve done it again, another great series! Though he seems to have a thing for kids, all the main characters are in middle school and Negi is just 10! Sometimes I felt like I was cradle robbing while watching this. This anime is full of clean humor (thank goodness) with only a few exceptions, and even with 31 students plus 3 teachers plus the Dean plus Nagi and only 26 episodes they manage to round out more then half of them decently (though a few of them sort of just take up space). Good animation throughout the whole series, and good voice acting for most of the characters, the voices of Asuna, Negi, and Evangeline (Luci Christian, Greg Ayres, and Laura Bailey respectively) were superb! |

All in all it’s a decent watch if you’re a Saber Marionette fan and have nothing better to do. |

| Although the character types and story progression is nothing new, it is a tried and true combination, though this anime is filled with lolitas. This is one of the few mecha series where the mechs are on the smaller scale, rather then having these excessively large and overpowered monstrosities this series settles on more compact (albeit a bit exposed) more maneuverable frames equipped with a much more believable arsenal. The animation is smooth most of the time with only a few hiccups (mostly when it comes to vehicle animation), the CG is impressive, and the voice acting is very good. |

| This adaptation is not quite as good as the original light novels, which are masterpieces (go buy them, seriously! ). That said, this anime is still superb! The big changes from the books are the story arcs are re-arranged and most of the darker elements are removed for a bigger emphasis on comady. Animation for this series is well done; solid artwork thoughout the series, good shaddowing and shading, and little sceen re-use and stock footage. On the Japanese side with Megumi Hayashibara as Lina Inverse heading up the Japanese cast, the voice acting is great. However, the first bunch of English voice acters that are cast for this arn't all that great, but the second set that are re-cast half way through the first season do a good job (Crispin Freeman captures Zelgadis perfectly). Buy it. Watch it. Love it. |

| To make this story arc the screen writers put the novels though the shredder, picked up a handful of the remains, and then filled in the blanks. Even so, this is still very entertaining with that good old Slayers TV humor and storytelling. Getting all the original voice actors back together for this production was quite impressive and gave the series a solid link back to the previous seasons. |

| If you watched the English dub, Funimation licensed this (instead of Pioneer) and changed all the voice actors, some of them sound close enough to their predecessors that it's not too noticeable, but most of them sound completely different. Though they did a good job, they just don't sound right. It's like having Arnold Schwarzenegger dub for Antonio Banderas! |

| The first half of this anime is good; good story, good artwork, good CG, and good voice acting. However, the second half’s story line falls flat on its face, the solution to all their problems is incredibly simplistic, the two brothers are so naive it’s almost insulting, and then everything turns all sunshine and rainbows. For the good start this anime had it finished miserably. |

| For all that I heard about this anime I sort of expected a masterpiece, but as with Cowboy Bebop I didn’t hold my breath, and thus I was not disappointed when it wasn’t. Though I am still wondering why this anime in particular is held in such high regards amongst the diehard anime fanatics, I still would recommend this anime to anyone. I really have only two complaints about this show: One, although it ends appropriately, it does slow down at the end loosing the lightheartedness it held though most of the series. Two, from an artists perspective, most of the show was done well, but sometimes I’d run into low frame-rates, re-used stock footage, and static imaging. Though it really doesn’t detract from the story, it is a lazy shortcut animators take to cut costs and speed up production. Overall I’d have to say I thoroughly enjoyed watching this series. Once more props to the Japanese voice actors for their effort, and to the artists for clean, solid artwork throughout the series. |
