posted on by Egan Loo
The editor-in-chief's official blog for Kodansha's upcoming Good! Afternoon magazine announced on Friday that Oh My Goddess! creator Kousuke Fujishima will launch his Paradise Residence manga series in the magazine's inaugural issue on November 7. The blog notes that this title will be Fujishima's first new manga series since Oh My Goddess! (Aa— Megami-sama—).
The magazine's first issue will boast 20 titles in all, including some from other prominent authors. Masayuki Ishikawa will be splitting his time between Moyashimon: Tales of Agriculture in Kodansha's Evening magazine and Junketsu no Maria - Sorcière de gré, pucelle de force in Good! Afternoon. Junketsu no Maria's titular character (pictured at right) is a girl living during Europe's Hundred Years' War. Tsutomu Takahashi will restart his most popular creation, the Ice Blade (Jiraishin) detective action manga, under the title Jiraishin diablo. Blade of the Immortal's Hiroaki Samura will launch Halcyon Lunch, a story about a man who loses everything and then meets a girl who will eat anything.
Artist Mimori (Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Yoigoshi-hen) will adapt Hinowa Kōzuki's long running Jigokudō Reikai Tsūshin novel series. The supernatural fantasy novels have already been adapted as an anime video and a live-action film. Kon Kimura (Karan, Kobe Zaijū) will relaunch his Kyo-musume (Giant Girl) comedy manga about a giant female yakitori shop owner's everyday life. Cromartie High School's Eiji Nonaka will debut his new Akai Sora Shiroi Umi (Red Sky, White Sea) horror manga anthology. Motoi Yoshida, the artist best known for the taboo romance story Koi Kaze, will launch Natsu no Zenjitsu (The Day before Summer).
