Has anyone's anime collection been destroyed, lost, thrown out by parents, abducted out of the house? I had a near-miss last month. This little storm named Isabel came through, and I happen to live in a happ-go-lucky, flood-prone town called Poquoson(poh-koh-sun). At the height of the storm surge, 75% of the city was completely underwater. Thinking quickly, I took my collection upstairs and sandbagged the stairs. On other occasions I've had my parents throw some of it out when they're really mad.

Nope. Can't say that I have, though I've been threatened to have some of it thrown out before. And I'm quite familiar with Isabel. I myself am in Virginia Beach. I was lucky enough to have survived it unscathed: no flooding, no wind damage, etc.

Loaned my VHS fansubs of Initial D First Stage to an ex-girlfriend. Never got them back.

Loaned my original copy of Tenchi Muyo 2: Daughter of Darkness to an ex-girlfriend. Never got it back.

Loaned my DVD of Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz to an ex-girlfriend. It came back unplayable.

Hmm.... maybe I shouldn't loan my anime to my ex-girlfriends.

I have a friend who swears they don't have my gunbuster. They took it while I was still only half done. That is not nice.

Caps. Fun. Rolling Eyes

And for the record, I've never had any of my collection lost, damaged, stolen, or thrown out. I'm rather highly protective of it all, which is one reason I don't let my little cousins near by room. Mark on my manga, and die. Quickly. Surprised

Nope. I usually manage to get all my stuff back. I've had to go to people's houses, but I've always managed to get it back.

Nobody borrows my manga, as nobody else can read it.....

I am also protective of my anime and manga. I don't loan it to anyone, and where I live there aren't sny floods and tornadoes are rare. Nothing's happened to any of mine.

The only thing I lost was a VHS copy of Darkside Blues I lent to a then-boyfriend-now-ex. I moved before I got it back....I wasn't overly worried about it though.

i have so much stuff, it's darn near impossible for me to actually know if i've lost something. :p

biggest loss was that I lent my Ranma 1/2 DoCo 1st CD to a friend... who supposedly gave it to another friend... but now neither friend claims to have it. It's hard to find old legit CDs like that anymore.. and that had nice plastic inserts for the cover. :p

there've been a few others, but nothing as valuable as that.

Once I had a friend who wanted to borrow Inuyasha manga vol.1 (1st edition), so I let him. The next day he moves out of the city. I was so pissed off, I had to buy another Inuyasha vol.1 (without my parents knowing), which was 2nd edition. Now I never let my friends touch my mangas again.

I had a near miss recently. Somebody in my neighborhood slipped into my house and stole my ps2. If they'd put more thought into it, they could have grabbed tons of handy anime and rentals that were sitting right next to the tv.

I've only had one disc go missing. It slipped out of my sister's bag while she was going home. Her friend that drove her says he never found it. Did it go out the window or something? Dunno.

My kids have spilled water on two of my mangas and the baby ripped a page out of one. I survived.
