I guess Star Leap (hopefully there will be PC version too) can be considered as Suikoden 6, but I really wish we would one day get title which reveals secret of Sindar, and also set in Harmonia.
In trailer there is Viki, young Flik, and that girl flicking her hair is Odessa, I think...
- That being said, Suikoden 2 anime is a wonderful news (for some reason I think Junichi Suwabe would be great a Luca), and overall I am simply glad that this is all, after all these years, the beginning of something big for Suikoden in general.

Okay, I was expecting something, just not a Suikoden anime. I vote for Toshiyuki Morikawa and Crispin Freeman as Luca Blight

Quite the Suikoden resurgence going on these days. I just hope they use the same music for the Suikoden II anime, as I personally think it's one of the best soundtracks of any JRPG. Also, maybe throw in some little Easter Eggs referring to part I or Suikogaiden in there, too. Seeing McDohl or Nash in the background would be rad.

I guess Konami actually cares about Suikoden if it's getting an honest to God anime as opposed to a Netflix series. Suikoden II is easily the best one so it makes sense to make an anime out of that. I do wonder how it'll turn out though. I hope it's not too watered down and actually covers everything. Luca Blight's insanity and mercilessness has to be preserved to showcase why he's one of the best video game villains of all time.
The mobile game has nice graphics but if it's a gacha game I'm not really all that interested.

I dunno about a suikoden anime, cause they'll feel force to cram in all 108 star, so you'll get tons of pointless scene that exist just to have a cameo appearance by random character who really don't bring anything to the table.

Am I dreaming? TAT
I... I can only wish them to respect the Drama CD cast, because it was excellent (Nakamura Yuuichi being Flik, Katsuyuki Konishi being Viktor... Seki Tomokazu doing an astonishing Luca Blight...) if they respect that and the quality of the animation resembles the short they did for the concert event I'll be happy.
The game also looks great and I'm happy to see knowing characters (and again, Flik, my favourite hahaha) even if it's a mobile gacha game, they said you can beat it free so I'll be playing it.
Thank you for this gift, Konami. I wasn't expecting anything besides the remaster and this is a dream come true ;-;!

Of course it's too easy to say, but the studio being a Konami animation branch that only started last year and has only done commercials and the director's previous directorial work being very middling CG stuff doesn't inspire much confidence

Yeah, I don't know that Suikoden is a particularly strong IP to cram into a more streamlined medium. The Stars of Destiny recruitment is core to the games, and I don't know how you put that in an anime without losing the plot in the shuffle.
The game scares me- I can easily see some bigwig deciding that, well, if recruiting army members is such a big deal for the games, that makes them prime gacha material. And...oof. I have a less than stellar view even of premium mobile games...but Suikoden as gacha would be doomed to the live service graveyards so quickly. I just don't see the franchise as strong enough for the big gacha money.
That is still a lot of stuff at once for a franchise that Konami has mostly ignored for what, a decade? I wonder what the plan is- if there is any. Quick cash out, or long term investment. I'd hope the latter...but bet on the former.
Edit- Looked into it. The mobile game "has gacha elements". So...yeah, thats probably gonna die pretty quickly.
