I would like to enquire about the encyclopediea's policy regarding pseudonyms. I understand that actors (both American and Japanese) use pseudonyms for a reason, and that should be respected. So, suppose there was a site that listed seiyuu names and their pseudonyms, would these be indicated in the encyclopedia in some way, or would they still deliberately be left as separate entires?

P.S. If someone feels the above link should be removed, I shall gladly edit my post (if an admin doesn't beat me to it).

It really depends. The reason behind American voice actors are often the Union issue, and they sometimes would inform ANN not to merge their alias(es) together. Japanese seiyuu usually use different pseudonyms for adult titles, and as far as I know they never ask people in charge of those databases to separate them, for several websites (in addition to the one you provided) exist just to tell people who's the voice behind character A of title X. Therefore, if there are creditable sources indicating the two credits are in fact the same person (such as Akane Suzumiya in KimiNozo and Akane Maniax) then they will be merged.

I see. Just for reference, then, what would constitute sufficient proof that such two credits are in fact one person?

For example, I couldn't guarantee that the information on the site I linked to is legitimate, and I can think of little short of listening and comparing the two voices in order to tell whether they indeed belong to the same person. But I get the feeling it would be hard to convince the encyclopedia staff to accept such proof. Confused

Neither can I. However, if you find several different sources pointing to the same person then we are pretty sure about it.
