Which channel has better anime offerings? And which one does a better job of representing anime as an art form?

Is TechTV better because they don't edit as much, is CN better because they show a better variety, or are there other important things to discuss?

And who shows the best specific titles, anyway? TechTV with Lain and Crest of Stars, or Cartoon Network with Inu Yasha and Lupin?

Discuss. Very Happy

Well, it seems to me that TechTV shows more respect to anime as an art form, but Cartoon Network definitely has a better selection. TechTV's selection could eventually become better than Cartoon Network's, but they just don't have as popular series as CN does. Also, a lot more people get Cartoon Network.

CN hands down. CN has a MUCH wider selection, showing several at a time in blocks(though they usually replay the hell out of them i.e. Yu-Yu Hakusho) on a regular basis, they have great shows on the Adult Swim block(not one day goes by that I dont thank the Lord for Inu-Yasha and Lupin), and they now exactly what the viewers want, although it takes time to get it.

Tech TV shows one show at a time with no replay besides friday evenings, only show anime technologically related (understandably so). But they too have to have restrictions. I doubt we will see Ghost in the Shell, Armitage and such.

Cn all the way for me...until I get the Anime Network anyway...

Hmmm, tough call.
Toonami - Screen Savers
Adult Swim - Anime Unleash
Tom and Jerry - Thunderbirds
Super Saturday - Extended Play
But, There is Ed, Edd, Eddy, so I guess CN wins.

Oh Tech TV all the way in terms of anime. I just hate it when a good show gets picked up by a network (DBZ is a prime example) and gets so hyped up and everywhere you look you see it and eventaully just get sick of it. It seems to me that CN plays what the majority wants to see and they can get more out of, while TTV just shows anime.

Even though they've only shown 3 different series', I have liked the Anime Unleashed shows. And a new episode every night is deffinately a plus. But I hate Thunderbirds comercials- Those puppets are mad scarry! They give me bad memories of Santa Clause and Rudolph!
I'd rather sit through Cartoon Cartoon Friday comercials any day.
Advantage - Cartoon Network

Easily CN... they have a much wider selection and constantly get more good, respected anime... of course they might show it on Toonami, which means many need to be cut, but at least they are getting it on air...

But do you think its worth being cut and still shown? I kow this is not the same, but would it be worth seeing the statue of david with something covering his manhood? While its a small part of it (ha ha bad joke), its still a part that is recognized.

Well it depends on how you are looking at it.

I view CN as simply a way to get exposed to a show to know if I like it or not, so I can decide if it is worth the purchase on dvd to watch it subtitled. I don't really watch TV and expect to see anime in its true form. So yes I will have to go with CN because they have turned me on to so many shows for free and saved me money because I bought stuff I liked instead of crap Very Happy

They are both good channels. It's hard to say which is better or not because they show different animes. And the animes on each channel are good. But it does suck for those who don't get the Tech channel because it kicks ass! Shocked

Actually, according to a schedule at http://www.techtv.com/animeunleashed/story/0,24330,3419370,00.html
they are showing Armitage Polymatrix on May 5th.

Tech TV is also taking more risks by showing Dual at 4:30 PM starting in April.
