As animation eye-candy, it's wonderful; as a story, it's imaginative but ultimately doesn't work. Not that most people who watch short subject films are bothered by that, but I am. Atsuya Uki is clearly very talented and I hope he can find an equally talented collaberator to compliment his strenghts and weaknesses.

Sometimes it's better to remember than re-live. I saw this (dubbed) several times when I was about 9, and I LOVED it. Now that I'm in my twenties I'm sad to say it doesn't hold up very well. It's got some cute characters and a touching moment or two, but the story is stagnant and the animation only so-so. |

Not as good as the first, but it still has a lot to recommend it. Or maybe it is as good as the first, but having seen the first I am unable to shake the feeling that this is the incorrect version. At any rate characters and relationships that exist in the first neither change or develop; the fun of this version is in getting to know new characters and seeing well known friends in different situations. |
