Oh cool! I know a lot of people really want to own certain Netflix anime in physical format, so this is great! Here's hoping Aggretsuko and Little Witch Academia are next!

Another "must have" for me. Really loved this show. I'll second FireChick's hope for LWA, too. I like Aggretsuko, but I don't feel the need to own a physical copy of it.

FINALLY!!! And the "LE" looks to be the same as the JP release (the only release , but expensive of course). I still worry about the quality because Funimation has a history of decreasing quality/color with rencodes but this still an amazing move - working with Netflix/Kyoani to do a home release. This show was DESTROYED by Netflix's compressed, especially in the many dark scenes and even today Netflix hasn't fixed the dozens of subtitle errors - I hope Funi will.

I didn't expect this! Thank you Funi~
I actually have not seeing this show - I don't have Netflix, and it hasn't been worth it to me to get Netflix either - but I've wanted to. It's KyoAni, it's beautiful, I've heard nothing but good things about it... I'm totally willing to blind-buy it based off of those qualities alone. I may not snag up the LE - which looks GORGEOUS - but the basic set? That's a different story. |

Wait - Violet Evergarden is getting a LE subtitle-only release from FUNimation?! You'd
think it would be EVA given their blatant salt over Netflix taking it from them. I'm so freaking excited for this! ![]() |

I guess this is only possible because Funimation apparently has (some of) the rights to this? Dunno what that means for the probability of LWA or other Netflix-hostages getting something like this, but it's good news in any case.

Both releases have both English and Japanese audio as they said in their blog. |

If price is an issue, you could start a free trial, binge the content, and then cancel before the trial ends. |

Great! While I am not a mega fan of this show, but I will be sure to buy the standard release.

This show had beautiful production and I'm definitely interested, especially for the art book.
Though I was hoping they'd hold off for a complete set that includes the OVA and upcoming movie for the full story. Speaking of Eva, hopefully we'll hear something on 3+1 soon after its theaterical delay due to the government restrictions from before. |

I hope they double check the masters they get. Netflix only got the version broadcast on Japanese TV months before. They did not get the extended director's cut last episode of Violet Evergarden that was later released on bluray in Japan, at least back then

This is one title I definitely always wanted a copy of, but never thought I'd get it. This will definitely get purchased for the collection.
