| It might look like I'm rating this a little high, and maybe I am. But for me, watching this show is like being beaten with a baseball bat made of nostalgia (in a good way). Stunningly beautiful, surprisingly well written, and (for a visual novel based show) well paced and transitioned. Add a wonderful balance of humour and emotion, a strong sense of place (the winter is practically the show's stropngest characters) ,a dose of the supernatural, and a really strong dub (so good it makes a show I can't stand in Japanese one of my all-time favourites in English) and you have yourself a really lovely modern fairy tale. Not a show for everyone, but probably the best moe visual novel anime out there. |
