Hm, 18+ because of a high level of gore, or 18+ because of some sexual content? Maybe even both! Have to wait and see.

All I know from playing the psp game is, it had brief sexual content (Nothing too bad). But I'd say the rating mostly was impacted by the murders and gore.

It would have to be for gore. CERO would outright deny a rating if it was porn (yes, even for bonus content.)

Almost certainly gore. A Ojomajo said, games that have porn/ridiculously overt sexual content in them are simply refused a rating, and Japan cracks down on violent content like America does on sexual content (I do remember No More Heroes was censored over there but wasn't over here). |

Well, it doesn't have to be "porn" at all. Nearly any nudity would result in being denied a rating.
Not "Japan", just CERO. They could have avoided the Z rating by distributing the anime bonus separately. On the other hand, a CERO rating is not necessary for PC, so I think they could have been more daring and tried to avoid it |

It seems to be an issue of violence, as most games where the sexual content would be bad enough for such a high CERO rating just go to the PC (which is why visual novels that are 18+ also seem to tone down so much before coming to consoles, even though such a high rating option exists on consoles. This is just my understanding about it.
I'm not really interested in the Anthology game itself. A Corpse Party anime sounds interesting, but then again, for the reason of this anime getting such a tough rating, maybe not. Part of what made the PSP Corpse Party work (for me at least) was the lack of visual for many of the Bad Endings you got. The text and audio was often more than enough, so I don't know how well it would transfer to anime. But maybe with CP Missing Footage, we'll see. (At any rate, as long as they don't anime spoiler[Yuki taking Yuka's eye] from Chapter 3, I think we're OK!)
