One Piece is one I think that cannot easily be beaten. One of the top shonen titles in the country right now, I don't see how it wouldn't be in the top 10. Although I find it more interesting that they ended up moving to Sunday mornings rather than the original airtimes that they had it at, which was Saturday evenings.

Indeed. If only their popularity would explode in the US as well.

The problem with Conan is its violence. It's too borderline between making it a kids show over here or making it an adult oriented show over here. Either way the content of the show makes it a difficult one to market in the US.

The more I look at it, Sazae-san's like a Japanese equivalent to The Peanuts. The art style, classic cartoon status, age, and family-friendly qualities are very similar.
Anyway, it's good to see Detective Conan in the top ten this week, especially because of Okiya's appearance in that latest episode. The series is long and fits the mystery serial formula almost to a T, but I can't help but love it anyway. It's a shame the series isn't very popular here, but Fighterholic summed up the main reason why perfectly.
Props to One Piece, too. I wonder how far they are in the Thriller Bark arc in the anime...I haven''t caught up to that arc yet in the manga, but it looks exciting.

I haven't been keeping tabs on the anime version myself, but I know that they are out of the Thriller Bark arc in the manga. It ended at volume 50. 50 manga volumes of One Piece, and getting ready for the 51st.
