I've been rather concerned about the J-Comi website, which can be found at http://www.j-comi.jp/. While it may have had an apparently rocky start, it still hosts numerous legal scans that don't violate any regulations to the best of my knowledge. It was even announced at Anime News Network. Before I actually use it (you might say I'm a bit behind the times with this), I wanted to make sure that everything there is legally downloadable for North American users. Thank you.
Edit: I corrected a formatting error involving the URL; very sorry. Last edited by vashna on Fri Sep 09, 2011 10:50 pm; edited 1 time in total |

Yes, it's legal. Although it seems most of the site is like manga streaming with ads, rather than downloads. Some have the tag "PDF": http://www.j-comi.jp/title/index/query:PDF. I'm not sure if those are the only ones with download versions.
I see there's an option to add English (translations, I guess?) into a box at the bottom of the page. But I'm not sure if it can actually have formatting throughout the panels, or if it's just |

Thank you very much. I wanted to make sure that it was legal for me, as an American, before I actually downloaded any of those few series that have PDF releases or even read the aforementioned streams. I am not sure what that box is for though, and I actually wondered about it myself. I'm not sure if it was meant to add translations or not, but I didn't mess with it.
