Afro Samurai (TV) Good Review #95 Date: 10 May 2009. Spends about 3/5ths of its time doing the hack-and-slash bit, until it does a flashback (surprise!) to explain Afro's past. The fight in episode 4 is the real climax, and thus leaves the final battle to be rather unfufilling. Fights are pretty solid overall, if over the top when it comes to blood. Could use less Ninja Ninja, and Kuma is the real star.
Afro Samurai: Resurrection (movie) Decent Review #96 Date: 10 May 2009. As with every bad sequel, something contrived has to happen so that the hero has to step in and save the day. Though, this one still hold ups thanks to the production values. Still needs less Ninja Ninja, and Kuma is still the real star.
Aiura (TV) Good
Akira (movie) Excellent Review # 15 Date: 18 March 2008. I watched Akira without reading the comments by people about how awesome it was, so I didn't have any expectations when I saw it. How smoothly the characters were animated and how detailed the backgrounds were was amazing. It definitely looks ahead of its time. It had a average setup, but it made up for it with how it told the story, Tetsuo's character development and all the action.
Animation Runner Kuromi (OAV) Very good
Animation Runner Kuromi 2 (OAV) Very good
anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day (TV) Excellent
(The) Anthem of the Heart (movie) Excellent
Appleseed (OAV) So-so Review #86 Date: 13 March 2009. It begins and ends, without any good setup for any of the plot points later on. I was expecting it to be a lot worse seeing as how it was airing on Ani-Monday, so it exceeded expectations.
Appleseed (movie) Decent Review #103 Date: 22 June 2009. Noteworthy improvement over the OVA. CGI is way too stiff, but overall it's a good enough action flick.
Appleseed: Ex Machina (movie) Decent Same as above.
Area 88 (OAV) Very good

Batman: Gotham Knight (movie) Good Review #44 Date: 02 October 2008. Visually, this one is amazing, even with all the different art styles being combined in one piece. But that also represents its biggest weakness. By having different narrative styles and have them in one movie, it lacks any coherence. "Working Through Pain" far outshines every other short story that's present here. Overall, it's good, but it could have been better had it meshed together better with the different storytelling styles.
Beyond (OAV) Decent

Black Lagoon (TV) Excellent Review #78 Date: 16 January 2009. Great action show with an awesome soundtrack, except for the opening song. Even though it gets stuck in my head, I don't really like Engrish. Its slow pace does slightly hinder the enjoyment because it feels like it's taking too much time on just one event.
Black Lagoon: The Second Barrage (TV) Excellent Review #106 Date: 15 July 2009. Changing its storytelling from being episodic to a series of story arcs really helped make it more effective overall. Need season 3 now.
Black Rock Shooter (TV) Decent
Blade of the Immortal (TV 2019) Excellent
Blast of Tempest (TV) Very good
Bleach (TV) Decent Review #36 Date: 5 August 2008. [comment withheld until further inquiry]
Bleach the Movie: Memories of Nobody Good Review #114 Date: 27 October 2009. First half of this movie is marvelous. Sena really could have carried this movie throughout instead of being a damsel in distress for the second half of the movie; which turned into the usual hack-and-slash, "gotta get everybody's cameo in right before the movie ends" type of Shonen Jump movie.
Blood: The Last Vampire (movie) Not really good Review #129 Date: 02 June 2010. While having a fantastic cast of animators (Nishio, Matsumoto, Inoue, Nakamaru, Ohira, Iso), the script is ultimately underwhelming. As a fan of Kamiyama's later works, I was kinda shocked to see him to put out something like this. I guess everybody's gotta start somewhere.

Castle in the Sky (movie) Decent eview #115 Date: 27 October 2009. Maybe it's because I've really gotten jaded with Miyazaki's "humans are destroying the planet" message, but I didn't really like Castle in the Sky all that much. Miyazaki showed a lot more creativity and subtlety in Nausicaa and Princess Mononoke.
Cat Shit One: The Animated Series (ONA) So-so
Cencoroll (movie) Decent
Chihayafuru (TV) Excellent
Chihayafuru 2 (TV) Excellent
Claymore (TV) Very good Review #119 Date: 14 January 2010. Well, what is there to say about Claymore beside the frustrating "go read the manga" type of ending that it came up with? It's about chicks slicing and dicing monsters. And it's pretty good at it too whenever Raki's not around.
Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion (TV) Very good Review #51 Date: 27 October 2008. There's a lot of hype surrounding this one, but I went into it trying to ignore. It starts off trying to introduce too many things at once with Britannia, C.C. and Lelouch's goals, and then it goes into a "light of a high school kid" mode, which leads for some awkward pacing. It has some solid animation and good musical score, but what stands out about Code Geass is its over the top-ness. From a cat saving a person's life, to Lelouch's costume, it gets ridiculous at various points, but it's still entertaining.
Code Geass: Nunnally in Wonderland (OAV) Awful
Code:Breaker (TV) Decent
Cowboy Bebop (TV) Very good Review #27 Date: 28 May 2008. The biggest positive in Cowboy Bebop is the soundtrack. It's definitely my #1 favorite in terms of anime soundtracks. On the other hand, at time it seems like it just going through the motions and it only really gets interesting towards the end. The self-contained episodes vary pretty widely in terms of quality.
Cowboy Bebop: The Movie Good Review #34 Date: 2 August 2008. If you've seen the TV series, then you can expect more of the same- great animation, great music, and an overall hint of ennui. I thought this movie dragged on for too long, but I think that it's because I can't take Cowboy Bebop in large amounts.
Coyote Ragtime Show (TV) Not really good Review #76 Date: 14 January 2009. The most interesting character in this series is the inspector; and with that in mind, it's not surprising that it goes downhill after the first episode- the only episode that features the inspector as its main character. The rest of the cast is pretty dull and they sure like to grin. Even so, it has some decent action, it's short, has some good animation here and there (though, it eventually goes down the drain, as does the plot). I'd probably like this one better if it didn't have such dense dialogue.
Cyber City Oedo 808 (OAV) Very good
Daicon films (special) Very good
Dead Leaves (OAV) Excellent Review #57 Date: 10 November 2008. This one just goes full speed ahead without looking back. Plot? Don't need it. Just add a bunch of vulgarity and it'll make everything better. Well, not usually, but it works here.
Deadman Wonderland (TV) Decent
Death Billiards (movie) Excellent
Death Note (TV) Decent Review #35 Date: 5 August 2008. (Review edit again and again) After initially falling heads over heels for this show, I've grown to become rather indignant towards it. While providing some good thrills the first time around, some thinking afterwards in regards to how the plot advanced and how it presented itself have left me with a sour taste in my mouth. And please check out Carl Kimlinger's review of the 3rd volume (eps. 9-12) and the 1st box set (eps. 1-20).
Demon City Shinjuku (OAV) Decent
A Detective Story (OAV) Good
Devil May Cry (TV) Weak Review #120 Date: 14 January 2010. How do you mess up a concept like Devil May Cry when adapting it? You try to make it as boring as possible with fights that are one-sided and uninspired. i guess I can also mention the ineffectiveness of the series's attempt of trying to make you sympathize with whatever new character pops up in an episode. But if the fights were anywhere near as interesting as the ones in the games, then every other problem could just be swept under the rug.
Digimon Adventure 02 (TV) Decent
Digimon Adventure: Born of Koromon (movie) Excellent Review #98 Date: 6 June 2009. Handles everything with ease. Please watch this short movie to witness that Hosoda is a genius.
Digimon: Diaboromon Strikes Back (movie) Decent Review #131 Date: 2 June 2010. The creative staff at Toei decided to go back to what made the 2nd Digimon movie, Bokura no War Game, so special but in the end what they end up showing are superficial motifs. Most of the same iconic scenes from the aforementioned movie make their reappearance in this movie, but it just feels like a copy and paste job without any thought to what these scenes meaningful.
Digimon: Our War Game (movie) Excellent Review #97 Date: 1 June 2009. I have to say that this movie definitely puts almost every other movie that's based upon a long running TV series to shame. This is my first experience with Mamoru Hosada and I must say this I'm really impressed. The comedy, action and even the cat in the background imitating Tai was just so well done. Normally movies like these tend to drag, but I didn't get that feeling from this one at all (shorter run time than usual also helps).
Digimon: The Golden Digimentals (movie) Not really good Review #131 Date: 2 June 2010. Too much introspection and wallowing in melancholy from this one. However, the music is one of the most baffling scores I've ever heard. If anything, I would recommend this movie just for the fact that you need to listen to this music to see how much it clashes with what's being shown on-screen.
Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods (movie) Decent
Dragon Ball Z: Bio-Broly (movie 11) Decent (dub & sub) Review # 8 Date: 18 March 2008 (redone: 14 Sept 2009). I rewatched this one after hearing some praises for it, saying that it makes fun of Broly. With that in mind during the rewatch, I could see where they were coming from and I could appreciate it more. (upgraded from Weak to Decent)
Dragon Ball Z: Broly - Second Coming (movie 10) So-so (dub & sub) Review # 7 Date: 18 March 2008. Tries to add in the original DB humor, but it doesn't work thanks to the two annoying young protagonists. Broly is still too lame, even though he loses a few pounds for the first half. Shorter run time than the first is appreciated.
Dragon Ball Z: Broly - The Legendary Super Saiyan (movie 8) So-so (dub & sub) Review # 5 Date: 18 March 2008. Rewatching this over a year since I originally wrote a comment here, I find it hard to forgive the logical fallacies that kept on popping up in this movie. Broly is too lame to be a good villain, but at least this gives enough Z action to fill your quota.
Dragon Ball Z: Dead Zone (movie 1) So-so Review #110 Date: 14 August 2009. Typical DBZ movie, but at least now I know what set the formula for the rest.
Dragon Ball Z: Fusion Reborn (movie 12) So-so (dub & sub) Review # 11 Date: 18 March 2008. Hey! This isn't a rehash of the Buu saga at all!
Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection 'F' (movie) Very good
Dragon Ball Z: Super Android 13! (movie 7) Not really good Review #6 Date: 18 March 2008. Meh, this one was forgettable, as with most DBZ movies I guess. Goku does get hit in the privates, though. That's worth something.
Dragon Ball Z: The Tree of Might (movie 3) So-so
Dragon Ball Z: Wrath of the Dragon (movie 13) So-so
Dragon Ball: Yo! The Return of Son Goku and Friends!! (ONA) Good Review #99 Date: 6 June 2009. It goes back to the Dragon Ball days, instead of the Z era, and in doing so makes for a fun, nostalgic ride that doesn't overstay its welcome.
Dragonball: Evolution (live-action movie) Bad Review #94 Date: 11 April 2009. Is this movie bad? Yes. Is it so bad that you want to bleach your eyes out when you finish it? No. It's just another badly made martial arts movie by Hollywood. What a surprise. In a strange way, it didn't live up to the hype.
Durarara!! (TV) Very good
ERASED (TV) Very good
Escaflowne: The Movie Decent Review #117 (100th title added to Seen all, not necessarily the 100th anime I've seen) Date: 30 November 2009. While I greatly prefer the character designs and the overall art direction in this movie, the script is rather atrocious, jumping from one conclusion to the next without any explanation. The TV series, with all its ridiculous plot points, at least managed to flesh out the characters. Here most get thrown aside or make small cameos. It's a given since it's only a movie, but at least they could have focused a bit differently on the main characters so as to not make every relationship that mattered in the TV series completely contrived in the movie. The music and the character designs were the saving grace for this one.
Eureka Seven - good night, sleep tight, young lovers (movie) Weak
Evangelion: 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone (movie) Very good Review #111 Date: 14 August 2009. Dub is a big step-up compared to the TV series's and the movie itself is actually quite enjoyable if you're looking for a quick recap of the 6 episodes with a little hint at the end of what's new.
Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance (movie) Masterpiece
Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo (movie) Good
Fate/Zero (TV) Excellent
Fate/Zero (TV 2) Excellent
Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children (movie) Very good Review #19 Date: 9 April 2008. This one was highly entertaining. The story itself was not that great, but the visuals, fight scenes, and the great musical score by Nobou Uematsu more than made up for it. I'd say that being a Nomura fanboy is almost a pre-requisite to be able to enjoy this one.
Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within (US CG movie) Not really good Review #132 Date: 02 June 2010. Proof incarnate that video movies are almost destined to suck. Visuals for the background and the overall environment still look great even now, but the acting for the characters themselves...oh, boy.
(The) Final Flight of the Osiris (OAV) Weak The visuals are, like, The Spirits Within all over again. Cannot take it.
FLCL (OAV) Excellent Review #37 Date: 5 August 2008. A pretty funny and random anime. Shows like this are hit-and-miss, because it's comedy and not everyone has the same taste in comedy. Comedy aside, this show has some great animation and soundtrack. (EDIT: 26 December 2008; changed rating from Very Good to Excellent) Well, now that I've finished it, all I have to add to the comments that I've already made is that this show actually has a lot more substance that at first glance, even with its random narrative style.
Flowers of Evil (TV) Very good
Fractale (TV) Weak
From the New World (TV) Excellent
Full Metal Panic! (TV) Decent
Fullmetal Alchemist (TV) Excellent Review #22 Date: 2 May 2008. Just about everybody in recent anime fandom has heard of FMA. Even though I think that it's a bit overrated (I saw it before hearing all of the hype), it does derserve most of the praise it gets. Although, the manga is much better because it's more complete in just about every aspect of the story and the character development. The weak point of the FUNimation dub is that it leaves some things unexplained, especially during the last few episodes. So it would be best to see the last few episodes again with subs so that things become clearer.
Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood (TV) Excellent
Fullmetal Alchemist: Chibi Party (OAV) Very good Review #24 Date: 13 May 2008. Very funny, which is what a chibi-style OVA is supposed to be. Too bad that it looks like FUNimation isn't going to license this.
Fullmetal Alchemist: Kids (OAV) Not really good Review #26 Date: 24 May 2008. Meh, even most OVAs are pretty much pointless, this one takes the cake by not even proving to be entertaining.
Fullmetal Alchemist: Seven Homunculi VS State Alchemists (OAV) Good Review #55 Date:6 November 2008. It's just a 10 minute short that ultimately proves inconsequential, but it has some good FMA action.
Fullmetal Alchemist: The Movie - Conqueror of Shamballa Very good Review # 9 Date: 18 March 2008. We finally get a resolution to the ending of the TV series...well kind of. Even though I prefer the ending of the TV series compared to the ending in this one, the movie was great.
Fullmetal Alchemist: The Sacred Star of Milos (movie) Very good
(The) Garden of Sinners (movie series) Good
Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet (TV) Very good
Gatchaman Crowds (TV) Good
Ghost in the Shell (movie) Not really good Review #33 Date: 18 July 2008. This movie was a major dissapointment after having watched both S.A.C. series. It was really boring, seeing as how there wasn't much action, and spent too much time showing off its visuals on stuff that had nothing to do with the plot. The music was nowhere near as good as the one in the S.A.C. series either. It didn't even show various members of Section 9 and the ending didn't set up itself up for a good climax.
Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence (movie) Excellent Review #100 Date: 6 June 2009. [old review before re-rating the movie] I had avoided this because I just didn't like the first movie, but I ended up watching it anyways. At first, I was really intrigued in watching the relationship with Batou and Togusa, but then I realized that I was only interested because I had watched the SAC series beforehand and I wanted to see what those characters would do. As opposed to watching the Batou and Togusa that's in the movie continuity. After realizing that, I wasn't as into it. I wasn't impressed by the CGI- it just stood out too much at times. The dog was both likable and annoying. And there was just too much quoting. In the end, this movie almost made me like an entry in the GITS movie saga...almost.
Ghost in the Shell: Arise (OAV) Good
Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex (TV) Masterpiece Review #28 Date: 1 June 2008. An amazing storyline and visuals. The soundtrack is great as well, as it should be expected since it's made by Yoko Kanno. Even the self-contained episodes are interesting. The only downside that I can point out is that it gets too complicated at times.
Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex 2nd GIG (TV) Masterpiece Review #29: 1 June 2008. It follows in the same footsteps as its predecesor in just about everything: visuals, storyline, complicated. But the self-contanied episodes, while still solid, aren't as good as the first seasons'.
Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex: Solid State Society (movie) Excellent Review # 10 Date: 18 March 2008. This one plays out just like an extended episode of the TV series, which isn't a bad thing at all.
Ghost in the Shell: The New Movie Decent
(The) Girl Who Leapt Through Time (movie) Excellent Review #112 Date: 14 August 2009. Hard for me to put into words what's so great about this movie. I'm usually hesitant when it comes to movies involving time travel, but after a while this one just captivated me. Definitely a more down-to-earth movie than I was expecting.
Grave of the Fireflies (movie) Decent Review #88 Date: 28 March 2009. This movie is one of those that tries really hard to pull on your heart strings and almost succeeds, if it weren't for the constant mistakes that the older brother makes that ultimately leads them to their end result. 70th title added to Seen All.
Guilty Crown (TV) Weak Araki, what happened? :(
Gunbuster (OAV) Very good
Gunbuster 2: Diebuster (OAV) Excellent
Gungrave (TV) Good
Gunslinger Girl (TV) Excellent Review #31 Date: 28 June 2008. Though lacking in having a central plot, this one more than makes up for it with its characters. While Gunslinger Girl can be labeled as Science Fiction, it sure doesn't seem like it because it focus on how the cyberization process affects these girls instead of the process itself. The ending was a bit dissapointing, but it was all right for a series that didn't have a central plot. But I wish it had been longer.
Gurren Lagann (TV) Masterpiece Review #113 Date: 14 August 2009. The most epic thing concerning Super Robots. I probably will be hesitant to watch any other entry in its genre because it just wouldn't hold a candle to it.
Gurren Lagann the Movie – The Lights in the Sky Are Stars Very good
Gurren Lagann the Movie –Childhood's End- Good
GYO: Tokyo Fish Attack (OAV) Very good
Halo Legends (OAV) Not really good Review #133 Date: 12 February 2011.

Just to make things clear, I have played less than 5 minutes of Halo before watching this compilation. With that in mind, this gets off a brutal start. Hideki Futamura already has a reputation of terribleness in some parts due to his Limit Cycle short in Genius Party and I can start to imagine why after his work here. It tries to duplicate what the Animatrix did with The Second Renaissance (which I wasn't too big a fan of) with disastrous results. The absolutely mind-numbing narration with equally flaccid visuals make this a chore to watch right from the start.

The Duel doesn't offer aside new from the visual narrative, which is grating on the eyes to begin with. Homecoming is especially mediocre, giving you a crash course in anime melodrama.

The only shorts worth watching are Daisuke Nishio and Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru's Odd One Out. It harkens back to early Dragon Ball. It's out of place, but still better than most of what's being offered. Prototype is easily the best thing to come out of this project. Yasushi Muraki lives up to his reputation as a mecha/effects specialist providing some great action here courtesy of people like Yutaka Nakamura, Soichiro Matsuda, and Hironori Tanaka, among others. Definitely worth checking out.
Hanasaku Iroha - Blossoms for Tomorrow (TV) Very good
Hell Girl (TV) So-so Review #52 Date: 27 October 2008. From reading the comments on this series, I thought that I was going to loathe it right from the start. After watching a few episodes, I didn't exactly loathe it, it was just repetitive. Seriously, every episode is the same situation, with the same ending. It doesn't help that the new characters that are introduced in every episode are just dull. Good score, both in the BGM and opening and ending song, with some good art style to go along with it. But it just seem like it could have been better had there been more of an effort to make the situations unique. NOTE: Seen 4 episodes.

Howl's Moving Castle (movie) Very good Review # 14 Date: 18 March 2008. The thing with Howl's Moving Castle, was that before I saw it, I expected it to be another Princess Mononoke. Thus, I set too high a bar for it. Even so, good from a Miyazaki standard, is still excellent by others.
Hunter × Hunter (TV 2011) Excellent
(The) IDOLM@STER (TV) Good
Inferno Cop (ONA) So-so
Inuyasha (TV) Good Review #25 Date: 13 May 2008. [comment withheld until further inquiry]
InuYasha the Movie 2: The Castle Beyond the Looking Glass Decent Review #20 Date: 13 April 2008.(EDIT: 13 December 2008. Wasn't really happy with the comments that I made, so I'm changing them.) The beginning of this movie would worked great for an ending to the TV series, around episode 50 or so. But aside from that, the rest of the movie is pretty much the same Inuyasha filler that you would expect, albeit with better animation and an art style that's more faithful with the manga, just like the rest of the Inuyasha movies.
InuYasha the Movie 3: Swords of an Honorable Ruler Good Review #38 Date: 5 August 2008. Best Inuyasha movie. It actually decides to develop its characters, instead of just staying stagnant like most movies based off TV series do.
InuYasha the Movie 4: Fire on the Mystic Island
InuYasha the Movie: Affections Touching Across Time So-so Review #39 Date: 5 August 2008. Decent action, but there's something about having a bug as villian that I just don't find appealing.
InuYasha: The Tragic Love Song of Destiny (special) Decent Review #64 Date: 13 December 2008. Okay, this one was hardly necessary considering the amount of flashbacks and retelling past events that goes on in Inuyasha. But whatever.

Kiddy Grade (TV) Very good Review #21 Date: 20 April 2008. This show leaves some things unexplained and it takes a while for the plot to appear, but once it does, it's a very good one and you really connect with Eclair. The one big complaint I have about this one is that the fanservice gets to be annoying at times.
Kids on the Slope (TV) Excellent
Kill Bill Chapter 3: The Origin of O-Ren (movie segment) Excellent Review #119 Date: 3 February 2010 Perfect complement to the movie. It loses some of its magic towards the end because you become desensitized to the lakes of blood that you see flying around. But the fight featuring O-Ren's father vs. the Yakuza (animated by Shinya Ohira, FYI) is one of the high points in the entire film.

M.D. Geist (OAV) Awful Review #48 Date: 17 October 2008. Garbage. It's worth seeing just to know how bad it is and you'll probably get a few laughs from it, too. You can get a much funnier account of this anime by reading Justin Sevakis' "Buried Garbage" article.
M.D. Geist II - Death Force (OAV) Awful Review #49 Date: 17 October 2008. Pretty much the same as the first one. There are a few moments where you can say "hey, that wasn't totally worthless", but they're so few and far between that it won't matter.
Macross Plus (OAV) Good Review #30 Date: 24 June 2008. Maybe it was because I missed the first episode, but the 2nd and 3rd episodes of this OVA series didn't really impress me. But the last episode was really good and it really did a good job at providing a good climax for the series. The music was hit-and-miss for me, except for the final episode, which I believe used the score very effectively. The relationship between Guld and Isamu was clearly the biggest strength in the series. EDIT (19/01/2009): Finished series. Opinion is same as before.

Matriculated (OAV) So-so
(The) Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (TV) Very good Review #120 Date: 3 February 2010 The amazingly unlikable titular character can be ignored with a smart, self-aware script and a relatable lead. Too much Mikuru at times, though.
Metropolis (movie) Not really good Review #68 (50th added in Seen all) Date: 26 December 2008. I'm not a fan of the art style at all. It definitely hinders the opportunity to take this movie seriously, not to mention the extremely odd choice of music, especially during the climax.
Mezzo (TV) Not really good
Millennium Actress (movie) Excellent Review #121 Date: 3 February 2010 Not that much I say (it's been a while since I've seen it). I think the last line in the movie says it all.
Mind Game (movie) Masterpiece Review #122 Date: 3 February 2010 I think that I'm not out of line in saying that this is most ambitious piece of animation to come out in a very long time. Like, a loooong time. No matter what Yuasa does in the future, the chances of surpassing this are infinitesimal. Someone needs to do the R1 market a favor and bring this over here.
Mobile Suit Gundam 00 (TV) Good Review #84 Date: 16 February 2009. (Revised on 23 December 2010). Ah, the joys of "My Anime". I can use the edit button at any time and take everything I said! In the past few months I've been revisiting the 1st season of Gundam 00 along with watching the 2nd season, which I've never gotten to watch. I have to admit that I enjoyed the 1st season series much more the second time around. The pacing throughout is very good, never dragging its feet or going too fast. However it does take about 13 episodes for "the real story", as it were, to kick in. And at a certain point in the 2nd season, it does feel a bit ludicrous seeing how Celestial Being could fighting so many battles one after the other.

The goal that's established at the beginning of the series is a grandiose one and it's never completely resolved to my satisfaction. However, what it does manage to come up with is not insulting, albeit it might come across as a bit too naive and sentimentalist to some. Gundam 00 does feature a large cast of characters that might make the series too convoluted to follow for some, but I had no worries keeping track of everybody. Though, the storylines for each character doesn't always turn as good as they could due to their limited screentime.

Animation-wise, Gundam 00 does feature some riveting fights. The animation remains consistently solid on the mecha front throughout, only justifying Sunrise's (and Nakamura Production's) reputation as an animation company. I imagine the theatrics (IT'S A GUNDAM!) present here in the fights are standard for a Gundam series, so it's take it or leave it in that aspect.

The series is worth a rewatch for me in the future-- not having to deal with Sci-Fi's terrible commercial breaks and edits that cut out important plot lines would be welcome.

My Neighbor Totoro (movie) Masterpiece Review #123 Date: 3 February 2010 A solid family film. The conflict towards the end is forced through, but it's not enough to drag the whole film down.
My Neighbors the Yamadas (movie) Very good Review #89 Date: 28 March 2009. Now here's some really fun, dry humor. Some of the cultural references went over my head, and it runs a little long, but it's still good stuff.
Mysterious Girlfriend X (TV) Excellent
Naruto (TV) Very good (dub & sub)
Naruto Shippūden (movie) So-so Review #124 Date: 3 February 2010 Standard movie that comes out every year for a long running shonen series. I follow the Naruto movies because they have some interesting work from certain animators, but there's almost nothing of note here.
Naruto Shippūden the Movie: Bonds Decent
Naruto Shippūden: The Will of Fire (movie) Decent
Naruto Special: Battle at Hidden Falls. I Am the Hero! (OAV) Not really good Review #3 Date: 11 March 2008. I was really hyped up to see this one, because the commercials made it seem like it was going to be great. It was a letdown for me. It has the "OVA" title, but the animation is the same as the TV series. Granted, the animation in the TV series is good, but I expected more from it. The characters that were introduced were uninteresting( both in personality and character design), and the plot itself was pretty weak. Being a fan of the series, it kept me awake, but again, I was expecting more from it.
Naruto the Movie: Guardians of the Crescent Moon Kingdom (movie 3) Good Review #58 Date: 2 December 2008. The reputation for this one is that it's by far the worst one of the 3 Naruto movies, but I found it to be just as good as the first one and better than the 2nd one. It was nicely paced and enjoyable, even though it sacrificed the art style in favor of more fluid animation. More so than the other ones.
Naruto the Movie: Legend of the Stone of Gelel (movie 2) Good Review #59 Date: 2 December 2008. Meh, this one was viewable for the nice animation for the fights, but the final showdown between Naruto and the main villain was kinda weak. Not to mention that it tried to be mysterious with who was the real villain, but it was painfully obvious.
Naruto the Movie: Ninja Clash in the Land of Snow Good Review # 4 Date: 14 March 2008. [comment withheld until further inquiry]
Naruto: Akaki Yotsuba no Clover o Sagase (OAV) Not really good Review #73 Date: 05 January 2009. Well, I guess the only real reason to watch this one if you're a Naruto is so that you can say that you've watched everything related to Naruto. At least it's short.
Naruto: Konoha Sports Festival (movie) Decent Review # 2 Date: 09 March 2008. This is really a pointless short OVA, filled with potty humor; but I found it to amuse me, which goes to show how mature I am. :P
Natsume's Book of Friends (TV) Good
Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind (movie) Masterpiece Review #62 Date: 13 December 2008. You could call this Princess Mononoke's predecessor. It explores pretty much the same themes as Mononoke, except with a female protagonist.
Negadon: The Monster from Mars (movie) Bad
Neon Genesis Evangelion (TV) Excellent Review #74 Date: 12 January 2008. Well, my interest in watching Eva peaked when I learned that Anno had animated a particular scene in the Nausicaa movie and when the first of the Rebuild movies was licensed by FUNimation. While on the surface it may seem like a regular mecha action show, it certainly has much more to offer in terms of how the characters develop and interact with each other. The comments Spike Spencer made at the end of the last episode sum up my thoughts about the ending nicely.
Neon Genesis Evangelion: The End of Evangelion (movie) Masterpiece Review #81: Date: 22 January 2009. Hmm, this only has about 100 times a better ending than the TV series had. 'Nuff said.
Nichijou - My Ordinary Life (TV) Excellent
Ninja Scroll (movie) Very good Review #56 (40th entry in 'Seen all") Date: 10 November 2008. I rented this one after I heard that a live-action movie was being produced by Warner Bros. It's pretty much a "style over substance" movie. There really isn't that much of plot, but it more than makes for it with the action sequences and the fluid animation which still holds up today after so long.
Nisemonogatari (TV) So-so
No. 6 (TV) Weak
Oban Star-Racers (TV) Very good Review #83 Date: 5 February 2009. I wasn't very interested in this one at the start. The Lego-ish art style had definitely turned me off, but after hearing some good things about it on these forums, I decided to give it a try and I'm glad I did. It really has a sweet story, the CGI is blended very well into the show and it has very sad ending.

One Piece: The Desert Princess and the Pirates: Adventure in Alabasta (movie 8) Weak
One Punch Man (TV) Very good

Origin ~Spirits of the Past~ (movie) Weak Review #101 Date: 7 June 2009. Nice visuals. Bad derivative of Nausicaa and Princess Mononoke in terms of a plot. Such a waste of a soundtrack, too.
Other Worlds (movie) I see Shinkai likes to display his versatility.... Not.
OVAL X OVER (OAV) Excellent
Panty & Stocking in Sanitarybox (OAV) Excellent
Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt (TV) Masterpiece
Paprika (movie) Very good Review #102 Date: 7 June 2009. Stunning artistry and an almost seamless implementation of CGI. Storyline isn't groundbreaking, but it doesn't need to be when Kon's imagination is on full display.
Patlabor 2: The Movie (movie 2) Excellent
Ping Pong (TV) Very good
(The) Place Promised in Our Early Days (movie) So-so
Pom Poko (movie) Excellent
Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea (movie) Very good Review #125 Date: 3 February 2010 Drags towards the end and it's rather aimless. You do have to check your cynicism at the door, but I thought Ponyo was a nice experience for the most part.
Porco Rosso (movie) Excellent Review #60 Date: 2 December 2008. While this one doesn't really have the prominent fantasy element that other Miyazaki movies have, it does not lack any charm and great storytelling merits.
Poyopoyo (TV) Very good
Princess Jellyfish (TV) Excellent
Princess Mononoke (movie) Masterpiece Review # 13 Date: 18 March 2008. This was the 2nd movie that was shown on Toonami's Month of Miyazaki event, and therefore the 2nd Miyazaki movie that I saw. (EDIT: 13 December 2008. Wasn't really happy with the comments that I made, so I'm changing them.) This is my favorite Miyazaki movie, not surprisingly, because it's his most action-packed one. This is pretty much Nausicaa's big brother, since it pretty much explored the same themes as Nausicaa, but it's slightly better IMO.
Program (OAV) Decent
Promare (movie) Excellent
Psychic Wars (OAV) Worst ever Review #50 Date: 23 October 2008. One of the worst handlings of the concept of time travel that I've ever seen. And overall, a pathetic attempt at storytelling. It doesn't even fall into the "so bad, that it's good" category. It's just plain horrendous. And to top it off, it's my 50th review. >.>
Psycho-Pass (TV) Very good
Psycho-Pass (movie) So-so
Puella Magi Madoka Magica (TV) Very good
Read or Die (OAV) Excellent Review #46 Date: 03 October 2008. Really fun series. I watched this on TV, and they edited it to make it look like an OVA and I didn't really notice it until it was pointed out. Overall, just a great action series with a little bit of comedy mixed in there.
Redline (movie) Masterpiece
Requiem from the Darkness (TV) Good
Royal Space Force - The Wings of Honnêamise (movie) Excellent
Sacred Seven (TV) Not really good
Samurai Champloo (TV) Masterpiece Yahoo! My first review.=D Date: 5 March 2008. I finished watching this series on DVD 2 weeks ago, and I must say that I was not dissapointed. The story is about 3 travelers, Mugen, Jin, and Fuu, who set out on a journey to find the Samurai who smell of sunflowers. It plays out much like Cowboy Bebop, in that it's a very episodic anime. Samurai Champloo is noted for mixing samurai with hip-hop. The combination itself works great, and the soundtrack overall among the best I've heard. And while the story isn't exactly deep and thought provoking, it's a fun show which should keep you entertained throughout.
Second Renaissance (OAV) So-so
(The) Secret World of Arrietty (movie) Very good
She and Her Cat (OAV) So-so Review #64 Date: 20 December 2008. Hmm, a cat talking about how much he likes his owner. I'm more of a dog person....
Shiki (TV) Very good
Shoka (special) Good
(The) Sky Crawlers (movie) Very good Review #116 Date: 25 November 2009. Definitely the least heavy-handed movie from Oshii that I've seen so far. Surprisingly enough, the dogfights, while nice to look at, are rather meaningless in the grand scheme of things. Oshii lets the story unfold naturally and without the sudden philosophical breakouts that were common in the two GITS movies. Good going.
(The) Slayers (TV) So-so Review #97 Date: 19 May 2009. I started really liking this series. The story wasn't too great, but I liked the humor. After ep. 10 I felt that the series wandered about, searching what it wants to do next. Which is really not good when the series doesn't provide you evidence that it'll give you a solid plot later on. When Amelia shows up she provides a new spark to the show, but the routine goes stale over time and I really only found myself caring for Zelgadis and even so not by much. In the end, I just wanted to get it over with. My lasting thoughts of the series was that it was worth watching just to see some old school anime and to see what all the fuss was about. But I doubt that I'll be revisiting it in the future.
Soul Eater (TV) Very good
Space Dandy (TV) Good
Space Patrol Luluco (TV) Excellent
Space Station No. 9 (movie) Good
Speed Racer (US live-action movie) Very good
Spirited Away (movie) Excellent Review # 12 Date: 18 March 2008. This movie was the first step for me in getting back into anime. When I first saw it on Toonami's Month of Miyazaki event, I was blown away, plain and simple. :)
Spriggan (movie) Not really good
