Japanese Box Office, September 17-18

From Up On Poppy Hill (Kokuriko-Zaka Kara), Goro Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli's anime adaptation of Chizuru Takahashi and Tetsurō Sayama's shōjo coming-of-age manga, dropped from No. 8 to No. 11 on Box Office Mojo's chart. It earned the equivalent of US$496,674 on 351 screens for a new total of US$55,038,492.
The Prince of Tennis: Eikoku-shiki Teikyū-jō Kessen!, the latest anime film based on Takeshi Konomi's manga, slipped from No. 13 to No. 14. With just 28 screens, it added US$310,253 for a new total of US$1,685,127. It continues to have the highest per-screen average, US$11,080, among the top 15 films.
Usagi Drop (Bunny Drop), Gekijōban Pocket Monster Best Wishes! Victini to Kuroki Eiyū Zekrom and Gekijōban Pocket Monster Best Wishes! Victini to Shiroki Eiyū Reshiram, and the double feature Gekijō Kamen Rider OOO: Wonderful Shōgun to 21 no Core Medal and Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger the Movie Sora-Tobu Yūreisen are no longer listed on the box office charts. Unfair 2: The Answer was the new No. 1 film.
