Funimation Reveals English Cast of Hero Tales Anime

Funimation announced the English-language voice cast for its upcoming release of Hero Tales. The cast list is as follows:
- Taito - Newton Pittman
- Keiro - Brian Mathis
- Ryuko - John Burgmeier
- Koyo - Jonathan Brooks
- Shokaku - J. Michael Tatum
- Rinmei - Colleen Clinkenbeard
- Hosei - Josh Grelle
- Laila - Alexis Tipton
The 2007 anime (titled Jyūshin Enbu - Hero Tales in Japan) adapts the martial-arts adventure manga of the same name from Fullmetal Alchemist creator Hiromu Arakawa, scenario writer Ryou Yashiro, and story creator Huang Jin-Zhou. The Chinese-mythology-inspired story revolves around a boy named Taito, the prophesied seventh star of the Hokuto (the Big Dipper). Taito must journey with his sister Laila and friend Ryuko to recover a legendary sword.
The first half of the 26-episode anime will ship in North America on March 15, 2011, after being originally planned as a fall 2010 release. Yen Press acquired the license to Arakawa's original manga in 2008.
