Plot Summary:
Lt. Sunaga returns to his wife from his service in the Russo-Japanese War as a quadriplegic amputee. Initially he is lauded as a war hero, but the man is quickly forgotten by his community and is left to the devices of his wife, who grows cold and resentful of the care required for her disabled husband.
