Not a romcom I was expecting to get a second season but I'm looking forward to Mona pursuing Medaka because she know she's in love with him now.

How? How does a series with such a nothing premise have a manga with over 150 chapters and an anime with two seasons? Am I the crazy one or is there something I just don't get?

While this wasn’t anything incredible I found it to be an enjoyable watch overall so I’ll mostly check out season 2.

The manga and shows that are popular in Japan aren't always the ones that are popular internationally, so I imagine that different preferences factor in here. From what I've gleaned from ANN is that the low-stakes, slice-of-life style stories tend to be more preferred in Japan.
But yeah, I'm with you. I found the first episode and the female lead intolerable, so not something I personally have any interest in following.

I was about to ask "why this dumb anime with no substance got a second season?", but then I remembered rent a girlfriend has don't know how many sequels. And yeah, I watched this series but after I finish today's episode that's it, I'm done

Due to the amount of panty shots maybe? Have enough fan service and a second season becomes possible.

Great news! I like the manga a lot and thought the anime was a good adaption. The second season should get to my favorite scene so far, when Medaka has dinner with Mona's family, who we get to meet for the first time. The whole sequence is hilarious.

Oh hell yes. Very good news. I only wish that I Got Married to the Girl I Hate Most in My Class would also get a second season because it essentially ended on a cliffhanger. Both series are 10/10 to me.

Fake fanservice. Real fanservice is full nudity like High School DxD and Gushing over Magical Girls.

Happy to see this one getting a second season. I really enjoy it, and I expect it's going to get better and better.

I've read in various comments that most anime adaptations of romcoms from this manga's magazine get two seasons in recent years, so this was probably planned from the start the moment manga got greenlighted anime, kinda like two cours.

As low budget as this anime was, it probably made enough profit to warrant a second season.

I'd like more shounen romcom anime with the FL as protagonist, this series would be much less interesting with Medaka as protagonist. Now OKITSURA would have been my top pick for this season most wanted romcom sequel but it might not have enough chapters for that right now, see you soon i hope Mona-chan.

This is getting a sequel because Crunchyroll is a co-producer, and they wanted more of it. It doesn't matter how popular, profitable or boring it was.
