Where is Medalist? I really thought it would be on there somewhere. Is it because it's on Disney+ so it's less accessible? There are weekly reviews though.

Although the list overall is good, and I highly agree with Apothecary Diaries and Zenshu taking the two top spots, I feel the absence of Medalist is almost criminal. I came in with zero expectations from Medalist but found myself charmed and excited for each episode. It really deserves to be in the top 5, not just top 10, of this season.

No Orb??? Oh wait, it probably got its flowers for Best of Fall 2024. Never mind then, carry on. I will however toss in my objection over the lack of Medalist.

As someone who occasionally trawls reviews just for the hell of it, I think Medalist's absence speaks to the overall quality of the season. There's probably another show or two that could be seen as "snubs" but all of these series have consistently had extremely positive reviews.

Total robbery(Yeah, it's from Fall 2024, but at the time of the Best of 2024 article, there were only 13/25 episodes out). I didn't watch anything else this season. Lots of series coming back for their 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc seasons that crowd out single run ones.

This season was a bit of a wash for me, I only watched three sequels (and I'm counting the cheating Danmachi in those) all of which are around the same quality as they were before rather than a big step up or down for me, and only tried two new things, one of which I dropped and the other one which I should've dropped, but do kind of enjoy how it tries to do a pretty regular medical mystery drama just because that's pretty different even if it's never very good

I only watched four shows this season...all sequels, and all made the list. While I enjoyed them all, Ave Mujica was my easy number one. It's been a long time since I'd so eagerly anticipate the follow up episode after finishing the current one. I've been suffering from quarter century burn-out and that human horror-show breathed some new life into me.

I can't in good faith put Welcome to Japan, Ms. Elf on any sort of "best of" list...but it was easily the show I looked forward to the most, week after week.

My favorite so far is Mirai Days and IMO it was robbed of a place on this list, as was My Happy Marriage.

I agree that lack of Medalist is weird. Apart from first two places, I don't think the remaining series on that list are that good to outclass Medalist. Villainess and Ranger isekai were fun but rather cliched. And yeah, shouldn't Orb also be on this list?

Frankly, this season had plenty of "good enough" series but few outstanding ones. We'll see what the next one will bring.

Looking back on the season it had a lot of mid/solid shows that I had fun with watching and some of them were quite charming, more important were the 9 or so shows I would call very good and had me looking forward to the next episode every week. That taken as a whole sound like a pretty fine season to me.

Judging by the comments I should also watch more of Medalist, that one did not hook me during the first two episodes but maybe I need to give it more time.

I’ll be the umpteenth comment to shout out poor Medalist. It really is one of the best sports anime recently. I’ll blame Disney/Hulu for its snub.

Having watched 37 anime this season, I too am shocked at the absence of Medalist and Orb. They were certainly more deserving than some of the other shows on this list.

Only watched Zenshu and Solo Leveling this season, both were great.

As for Medalist, never heard of it or just don't remember it mentioned. Perhaps that is why it didn't get a mention, despite most of the posters wishing it did. When you say Disney+, I really don't think anime, unless it is Hayao Miyazaki stuff.

Just here to add to the crowd of people saying Medalist not being on this top 10(11, really) is insane.
