Excellent article. I've seen so much behind-the-scenes stuff with live-action films/shows, I always wonder how much animation differs in relation. Almost two decades ago, I created a little book for a college project trying to tell/illustrate the process of making anime. I think I had gone with the manga adaptation route and tried to explain all the little things like producers, studios, the whole production phase (pre-, current, and post-), then eventual licensing for international distribution.

It was kind of hard to make, as I really wanted to find as much info as I could, be very thorough in the explanation, while also finding good pictures. But Internet resources weren't quite as expansive back then as they are today. I got an A, anyway, and think it ended up being 30-some-odd pages long. I think I kept it somewhere in a pile of keepsakes. Although, if I tried to re-read and scan it, I'd probably really embarrassed by how much it sucks by my current standards. Then again, maybe it won't be so bad for a kid in his early 20s with early 2000s Internet.
