I find it funny how Momentary Lilly brings such a long comment, maybe longer than any other anime in the list. Certantly, sometimes something awful can lit our brains to write nonstop, till the point you wonder "wait, why I am writting a 3000-word essay about Momentary Lily?",
Pity about wasting legally not-Columbo in Ameku.

Thankfully, I didn't watch any series this season that felt like a waste of time this time around so theres nothing that I can label as Worst. Then again, this was a rather dry season for me. Only stuck with a handful of shows & about a half of them are just sequels of shows I'm already enjoying to begin with.

I'm a little surprised I Want to Escape From Princess Lessons didn't make the list, but then I have to presume that the only people on staff who bothered to watch it at all didn't make it past the first episode, which is the least objectionable part of the show.
I certainly think that a show that spent its time devising new ways to deny its heroine even the most basic freedoms and gaslighting both her and the audience that her captors/abusers were justified, that the words of a child are binding, and that she's just a silly goose for denying the obvious all while looking like it was made of melting crayons would have ranked fairly high. Maybe not enough to beat out the likes of Momentary Lily, but maybe enough to give even Beheneko a run for its money.

Oh man, I skipped that one with ease, but I've just read the discussion about last, final episode after reading your post, and, like, wow, what the hell. Did someone watch Stepford Wives and didn't notice it was satire, not guide?

First, as somebody who has complained about a certain aspect of these "Worst of..." Lists in the past, let me say I am super happy to see that no reviewer had to resort to the dreaded, "I only watched 5 anime this season and they were all pretty good so I'm going to take my number 5 and mentally contort myself into justifying why it belongs on this Worst of List."
There was some pretty damn stiff competition for Worst of this winter, that's for sure. I will challenge Steve Jones's contention that Momentary Lily had the most egregious examples of tonal whiplash this season. Phantom Trigger is muttering about holding its beer.
By the way, love the expression on the character's face in the banner... perfectly sums up the physical reaction to bad anime.

The worst part of I Want to Escape From Princess Lessons was the second quarter, after which it improved to a solid "meh" - not utter trash, but not good either. Worst show I bothered to finish (it was helped by a very thin Sunday lineup).
Following precedent, "Not Being Able to Legally Watch Kono Kaisha ni Suki na Hito ga Imasu/I Have a Crush at Work" should have made at least honorable mention.

Aw man, I wanted to see a roast for Princess Lessons. It’s the first anime I dropped due to legit anger at the content rather than “I’m bored” or “this isn’t my cup of tea” (okay, Fluffy Paradise made me a little mad but not on this level). I couldn’t even finish the third episode.

For your mental health it was good you quit, as the treatment of Lettie was even worse in Episodes 4 to 6.

I completely agree with all of these. I did finish Promise of Wizard but mainly because I enjoyed seeing the pretty boys. It didn’t offer anything else. I’m also surprised that I Want To Escape From Princess Lessons (which she technically did after the third episode, so wtf is this the title?) didn’t make the list as the runner up. I did enjoy the characters turning towards the screen moments since it reminded me of Modern Family, but that was about it. I can only handle so many mediocre to bad anime each season.
Edited to add that I also can’t believe that Anyway, I’m Falling In Love With You isn’t on this list as it was even worse than Princess Lessons.

Leave it to GoHands to drop the worst show of the season, they seem to be on a legendary run of awful shows.
After sitting through eleven episodes of Ubel Blatt, I sympathize with Kevin for being stuck reviewing it. I'm also shocked there are so many shows that are worse than it is. I thought I was watching the dumpster fire of the season, not just one of them.

I can't really agree with all of the shows listed. Sure, they not winning any awards, but they are at least entertaining in their own ways.
Medaka Kuroiwa is Impervious to My Charms: It's just an extremely safe harem show.
Grisaia: Phantom Trigger the Animation: I Liked it for what it was, it gave us something different from the usual Grisaia formula.
Promise of Wizzard: Sadly, you need to have played the game in order to find enjoyment from this.
I’m Living with an Otaku NEET Kunoichi!?: Not the worst show out there. It had it's moments.
Ameku M.D.: Doctor Detective: Micro-House MD is fun! Maybe i'm too dumb to see the displeasure in things?
Beheneko: The Elf-Girl's Cat is Secretly an S-Ranked Monster!: My biggest peeve with this is the lack of boob variants. Everything was a copy paste.
Momentary Lilly: I liked it. The twist was obvious from early on if you kept paying attention. Also the animation style is hit or miss.
Quote: | Most of the show's 24 minute episodes are broken up into two distinct storylines, and separated by back-to-back ED and OP sequences. That means that nearly three minutes of every NEET Kunoichi?! episode goes to the doubled-up opening and ending sequences, and it makes me feel like the show doesn't have enough content to fill a full episode of television. |
The TV broadcast is only about 12 minutes long and 24 episodes in total. Streaming services received the combined episodes which resulted in the weird OP/ED sequences.
Farmagia is probably the "worst" the game hardly had any story so the anime tries to shoehorn something into 12 episodes, but everything feels like Fairy Tail.

While I agree with some of the selections on this list and only mildly disagree with one (I can understand why Beheneko is there but found a slew of other titles less tolerable this season), this list doesn't feel complete without including any of these three:
Bogus Skill <<Fruitmaster>> - Some of the season's weakest animation, horrible handling of the reformation of one villain, and it's so disappointed with its protagonist that it largely ditches him for the last third of the season.
I'm a Noble on the Brink of Ruin - One of the most eye-rollingly OP executions to come along in quite some time. (If you're protesting "but it has a lot of competition on this front!" then you clearly haven't watched it out. Consider what Slime did over six cours and imagine packing it into one.)
Even Given the Worthless "Appraiser" Class - This one actually started out decent but shifted over to shameless super-OP/harem mode rather quickly. Perhaps more tedious than outright bad, but still deserves consideration.

I did warn you all about Princess Lessons in the Preview Guide. The light novel was a hot mess of suffering. I mean the whole premise of this 'romcom' was to 'Stockholm' this girl into submission, with the whole cast joyfully participating in it. They went to town with the Patty Hearst'ness of it all.
Really, the only true and good ending that this show should have ended on was a bloodbath of cruel revenge.
For morbid curiosity's sake, going to have to watch how they have actually ended the anime.

I have to agree with you on this. I had to drop the light novel, because of just how mind numbing this OP execution was. Someone must have been abusing a 'cheat code' on this one. If you are going to do an OP execution plot line, at least you have to make it interesting or at the very least, entertaining.
