It's a been a great return for the series with the humor still going strong. While it's not surprising that some people found out about Mash being magicless, I'm also surprised that everyone in the school found out like we see in the stadium. Guess that just gets the reveal out of the way though.
Definitely another great song by Creepy Nuts too =) |

I never expected a Creepy Nuts OP for Mashle, but it worked out surprisingly well.
But it's nice to see Mash, the gang, and their antics all back and as hilarious (and sometimes heartwarming as ever). I missed how down bad Lemon is for Mash and how Mash is such a mood. Rayne is a really cool guy. Though it's kind of weird how he's spent more time with Mash than his own brother. I really want to see Mash go to town on the other Divine Visionaries...though flamboyant Takehito Koyasu comes first. |

Glad the show is back! I have to say it's so far a surprise that Mashle of all things has perhaps the best OP and ED tracks of this year so far, both the sick tracks and suitable animated visuals. I never skip them!

I’m a bit late, but the opening really did match the hype. I keep finding myself rewatching it - and I never cared for season 1’s opening.

This is the first episode of Mashle I found to be genuinely laugh out loud funny at numerous points.
When the manga first started being published I read each new chapter as they came out but I fell behind around this point in the story. I had intended to catch up at some point but then the anime was announced and I thought I'd watch that first then go back to the manga. Sadly the animation quality for the series wasn't quite what I had hoped for and something about the overall execution fell flat when it came to the humour. I've watched the series with a general level of amiability up until now with the occasional grin or smirk. I don't know why - maybe I was just in the right mood - but this episode was the first one I thought was seriously funny. A joke is often only as good as it's execution/delivery and the ones in this episode delivered. For me at least. |

Mash's antics are at their peak...his punch-first ask questions later move, his "this is too much work" move, his suddenly pulling out break-dancing move, his flexing his strength and then asking existential questions move, and of course screwing up simple actions move.
Size-changing Senpai was so cool. Too bad what happened to him. Kouki Uchiyama playing the antagonists in two separate Shonen shows on the same day? Actually I think he's playing a role in four Saturday shows (Apothecary Diaries, Blue Exorcist, Solo Leveling, and this). I'm guessing this exam will be where Finn has to really step up now that he, Dot, and Mash have been separated and he's the only one keeping them from losing. I don't expect Lance and Margarette to work together. |

Season 2 it's quite the step up from season 1, I am actually liking it now that the intrusive explanations are out and we have more characters and the comedy its not centered just around Mash.

Anyone else feel like that goddess statue was one big shoutout to Darklord Nurse Reficule?

Yeah, I kept waiting for him to just smash the wand, perhaps with his own, which apparently weighs a few tons. I certainly never expected the fight to turn into Prince of Tennis! What was he using for the "ball"?

Was wondering this, too. It looked like some wadded up bandages from the Form 1 goddess/nurse, maybe? |

I figured it wouldn't end things there (though that would have been a nice change), but Mash's entrance was very satisfying. I figured he'd use the weight of the wand to pin him down or something, but I definitely wasn't expecting an impromptu tennis racket
Also wondering this. And did they destroy his crystal, or just walk off? |

This show is more often than not overtly comedic yet it still can deliver as much heart, hard-hitting and satisfying action, and spectacular animation as any other Shonen anime.
Finn may not be powerful but he tries to fight for his friends and is a master of the Joestar secret technique. I thought Mash's wand would just be a club but him being able to morph it by hand into whatever he needs, to comedic effect, works even better. The audience' reaction keeps being priceless. At this point they can't deny how strong Mash truly is. |

Given the pummeling he took once his protection was gone, maybe the crystal got broken during the beatdown? I kept waiting for the triumphant crushing of the crystal, but it never came. I guess we'll find out. |

Curious how Macaron survived that hit. I was expecting them to show him surrounded by his magic to cushion the blow or something similar. Do they have body strengthening from mana (or along those lines) in this series?
Well, looks like his team was eliminated, so I guess it happened one way or another *shrug* |

Maybe Macaron is spineless, and so immune to Mash's spine-crushing magic.
