I was already cursing CR when all the TBA boxes was all filled out and this was not included on yesterday's announcement, glad that they added this. Hopefully they will also add the previous Precure seasons on their catalogue as well.

Crunchyroll seems to be very random with what Precure series are licensed for Europe. This one is but the currently airing main one isn't? Or maybe it's Toei being weird. Who knows.

CR does this every season. They have for example: 8 open slots, they'll announce 8 shows over a couple of days and then still announce shows following those announcements the day before or day of it streaming.

Generally it says "FINAL UPDATE" but even then they'll have shows/films be released following that.

Yes, don't trust their number of slots showed for the picked titles, it was never relevant.

That would be my guess, seeing as most new shows streaming on Crunchyroll are available in Europe.

The difference might be that they’re reserving the Precure shows for kids for some other possible deal somewhere down the line, while this show is being treated like other ones for an older audience?

(I assume this is going to be much more of a gentle maturing of the themes and subject matter than truly inappropriate for kids, but it is still targeted older.)

I really liked how they handled the Looking for Magical Doremi movie, so I'm looking forward to seeing this one.

Anime Digital Network has some Pretty Cure seasons streaming there, so I don't get why Crunchyroll Europe can't. Also, I don't think Toei is even trying to aim Pretty Cure towards Western kids anymore; all of the newly licensed content is streaming with subs )and rated TV-14 for some reason?) and the only place to get merch is Tokullectibles, which is aimed towards older collectors.

Maybe it's because the GF dubs flopped (or no kids' anime licensors want it) but I'm seeing Toei aim Pretty Cure towards older audiences, so I doubt they're going to do anything for kids.

One of which is Splash Star so France has access to one piece of what's needed to watch this show.

Is Yes Precure 5 or Splash Star even on Crunchyroll or is this like Detective Conan where they just assume you watched the fansubs?

Sadly, no, both of those are not in CR's catalog, and you would have to assume you already watched the fansubs previously so that you know the characters beforehand.

At leas they have Mahoutsukai. They're already prepared for next year's sequel.
