I don't think I've ever done a write-in answer on one of these polls before, but I immediately thought of Bushido Blade, so I went with that.

Good list! Some of my personal favorite girl friends:
Kaban and Serval (Kemono Friends) Natsumi and Koyuki (Sgt. Frog) Rakka and Reki (Haibane Renmei) Tooru and Kobayashi (Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid...though if Tooru has her way, one day they'll be more than just friends ) |

Such a thing does not exist. They're clearly all lesbian lovers! ... Or so that's what the internet wants me to believe |

Clearly no one reads these forum posts. animenewsnetwork.com/bbs/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=4936709#4936709 [And it wasn't like I was the only one to bring this up.] |

I liked the list. Chizuru and Ayane rock.
Friendships I also liked: - Futaba and Yuuri from Blue Spring Ride: When Futaba is finally fed up with playing a 'character' and ditches her old 'friends', she notices Yuuri. Yuuri refused to blend in and behave like the other girls. She already decided to be herself and be as cute as she wants to be, but was isolated because of that. The foundation of their friendship, both being themselves, is quite cute. There's also a third girl, but the anime didn't catch up that far from the manga. The third girl's already a friend, but not as memorabel as the first two yet. - Kyoko and Kanae from Skip Beat!: Enemies at first, but after having to work together (to Kanaes chagrin) they manage to become good friends. - Yukino and Yui from My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU: Heartwarming, truly care for each other. Their friendship isn't without strife, sinds the trio of Hachiman, Yukino and Yui all face difficulty dealing with their and each other feelings, being honest and in making choices for themselves. - Reina and Kumiko from Sound Euphonium: The shojo ai teasin' is a bit dumb since spoiler[we never get any closure on that part], but I like the chemistry and characters. - Erika and Sanda from Wolf Girl & Black Prince: I don't know where and how Erika managed to get such a cool friend, but Sanda is one of the most down to earth friends in anime. Also quite mature. And Erika clearly needs someone to give her a level headed remark whenever she thinks or does something stupid to please others and make new 'friends'. |

I was surprised to see "Rei & Usagi (Sailor Moon)" listed; I never thought of them as a best friend duo. When I saw the image with the link to the article, I was expecting Usagi and the 4 Inner Senshi. I thought the closeness of Usagi's relationship with each of the Inner Senshi was more similar than different. I didn't get the impression that Rei and Usagi were best friends, while Usagi and the other Inner Senshi weren't. If someone had asked me who Usagi's one best friend was, I probably would have gone with Naru, although that would have been more applicable early in the series.

Really happy to see the Kimi ni Todoke, Galko-chan, and Super GALS! mentions, all excellent choices for this list.

Regarding the poll, Virtua Fighter could definitely use another entry after so long. Akira and Pai (and Kage-Maru by extension) have done nothing but appear in crossovers as of late, which isn't bad, but it just shows the IP has been left to stagnate. There hasn't been anything significant in years as far as the franchise goes, despite Final Showdown being one of the best things to happen in the fighting game genre in forever.

I assumed they were going to mention the scenes in the big climactic episodes where Rei slaps Usagi out of her tearful belief that all is lost, and tells her to get back up and fight again. Which, well, Makoto and Minako never did. And yes, Naru sort of drops out of the series after they leave middle school, since she's gotten the idea that Usagi is Sailor Moon, her relationship with Amino seems to be steady, and there's no more story joke to pursue. Ami probably has a stronger friendship with the other four, because they took her "I'm only good for studying" self-esteem out of the dumps, but the Rei & Usagi thing is more memorable--We're supposed to know they're close friends, from all the tongue-wars the rest of the time. (And I clicked the article to see whether Kei & Yuri would be mentioned--Yep, everything's in order.) |

NanoFate from MGL Nanoha...My most memorable female friendship duo.
Upon their first encounter, Nanoha engaged in several harsh battles with Fate before eventually becoming close friends with her at show's end. |

I'd suggest Utena and Anthy, but I feel like "friends" is under-selling it a bit.

I don't know who's editing these articles, but they need to do a better job. Like with articles talking about Naruto, the Nana's in this article are messed up. The title is supposed to be in all caps and italicized, but their names aren't supposed to be.

As noted. Kaban & Serval didn't seem at first like the "Through thick and thin" faithful-friendships like the others on the List, but, given their trip together, and the ending...well, maybe. And Koyuki's, um, over-enthusiasm about finally getting to do real non-ninja girly-BFF things with Natsumi, and using her as her role model, is a frequent running gag on the show, as Natsumi already sweatdrops over it , but Giroro and Dororo constantly jump to their own respective panicked conclusions. |
