Main protagonists and villains get all the glory, but what about the masses of other guys? Those oft-unsung figures who may not lead but lend critical support and/or tension-breaking to the animated endeavor? This tournament is for them, and this is their chance to shine.

SPECIAL NOTE: This tournament has now concluded. Find the final results here.

NOTE: Since this tournament is being run on an English-language site based in North America, official English spellings, title translations, and naming conventions will be observed in any case where it matters.

Evaluating Criteria
Although each voter may ultimately decide for himself/herself what exactly "best" means in this case, the following are the recommended criteria that all voters are strongly encouraged to keep in mind:
1. The character must have a significant role but not one that dominates for more than a small portion of the series or title.
2. The character should have a significant impact on the main plot and/or the actions of the main protagonists or villains, unless the character exists purely for comic relief.
3. The character should have a distinctive presence, one that allows him/her/it to stand out in the series (i.e. the character is not just figuratively "a face in the crowd").
4. The character must be entertaining within the context of the source title.
5. Only animated content can be considered for evaluation purposes; deeds or characteristics only present in a manga, novel, or live action form of the title cannot be considered and should not even be brought up. Also, please note that, in some cases, characters are competing based on a presence in a part of a broader franchise rather than the whole thing (usually because the character in question does not appear in all parts of the franchise - e.g. Olivier Mira Armstrong only appears in FMA: Brotherhood and not in the original series or follow-up movie, so she is only listed for that specific series).

Other factors that might be worth considering include degree of character development given the character's limited screen time, originality, and effectiveness. Voters are very strongly discouraged from just relying on popularity or personal favoritism, although the latter is tolerable if used only as a tiebreaking factor.

Tournament Rules/Standards:
1. This is a single elimination tournament using a standard advancement bracket.
2. Advancement is determined by receiving a plurality of votes in a given match-up. In the event of a tie, all tying participants who have the highest score advance.
3. The field is divided into four lettered Groups, each representing one of the four major branches of the bracket.
4. Each voting phase will last exactly one week, beginning and ending at midnight Tuesday EST (which is GMT-4 right now, I think?). No votes posted after the cut-off time will be accepted, even if an official end to the round hasn’t been announced.
5. Anyone who is a registered forum member in good standing (i.e. you aren’t currently banned) is allowed to vote, regardless of whether or not you’ve participated in any previous round or group. However, you must vote for all match-ups in a particular week or none of your votes will be counted.
6. Although justifying your votes is not required in the first two rounds, it is strongly encouraged, as not everyone is going to know every character and convincing arguments have proven to be a major factor in past tournaments. Beginning with Round 1 Group C, voters are required to make significant arguments in at least one match for each Group during the first two rounds.
7. Changing your vote during the course of a week is allowed, but such changes must meet three requirements to be counted: they must be justified, a change that's clearly marked as a change must be done on the original voting post, and a notice about the change must be put in a new post.
8. Key is the final arbiter of the tournament. Dorcas_Aurelia is the final arbiter of the accompanying minigame.

References
Since voters are not expected to know everyone going in, Guide pages which briefly describe each character and provide a picture of said character are being provided; these are linked on the name of the character in each match-up. Beginning in Round 3 these Guide pages will also have links to video clips featuring the characters. (No, we don't do such clips in the first two rounds because the sheer volume would make them too much of a hassle.)

The bracket showing all match-ups in the tournament can be download using this link.

ccdx's official tournament progression bracket can be seen at this link. He is also the Video Clip Master when Round 3 comes around.

Ahh, a new tourney gets underway and I have a lovely 8 page paper I need to forcibly wrack my brain to type up. On many of these, I went with the guide, so I'm keeping an ear open on some of these.

Anyone else find it ironic that on Oji-san's character entry, there's a "Don't steal our images" thing from ANN?

Vote Change (A-7)

A-1: Maes Hughes
A-2: Eri Ninamori
A-3: Setsuna
Have a feeling she's not going to be able to beat someone from Sailor Moon, but I think she deserves more votes than she'll probably get
A-4: Toki
A-5: Neya
A-6: Mendoza
Having seen both, I'd have to wager that Makoto could have gotten by ok without Auntie Witch, but the kids in Mysterious Cities of Gold absolutely needed Mendoza's assistance.

VoteChange
A-7: Rick Thunderbolt
This match has been going a lot closer than I expected, but I'm going to change my vote over to Rick. I'm a bit more than 3/8th through YYH, and the more I watch, the more it seems like she's a team fighter and she did help bring out Yusuke's potential, but I think Rick does a lot more work with Molly. It's one of those things where it's like "I'm sure Yusuke would have eventually gotten there without Genkai, but with Rick, Molly may have never really gotten there". Not to mention being the first to catch on the the whole spoiler[Canaletto] thing.

A-8: Nana
A-9: Lt. Yamamoto
A-10: Christopher Armalite
A-11: Satoshi Miwa
A-12: Edel
A-13: Alex Rowe
A-14: Jung Freud
A-15: Ushio Okazaki
A-16: Nabeshin

Group A-1
Voting for: Maes Hughes, Fullmetal Alchemist franchise

Did his opponent really stand a chance here? Hint: the answer is no.

Group A-2
Voting for: Naru Osaka, Sailor Moon

She's not the strongest character here but Naru gets my vote at this point in the game.

Group A-3
Voting for: Haruka Tenoh/Sailor Uranus, Sailor Moon

Gotta support my nominees and Haruka definitely is one of the most memorable supporting characters around.

Group A-4
Voting for: Itoko Osakabe, School Rumble franchise

Because, as happened in the Best Hero tournament, I cannot in good faith vote for any characters in Princess Mononoke because I found all of them to be incredibly flat and boring.

Group A-5
Voting for: Nabuca, Now and Then, Here and There

Group A-6
Voting for: Kazuko Yoshiyama, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time

Group A-7
Voting for: Genkai, Yu Yu Hakusho

Group A-8
Voting for: Nana, Elfen Lied

Group A-9
Voting for: Tetsu, SaiKano

I love the whole SaiKano cast and so will definitely support them in the first round (and perhaps further).

Group A-10
Voting for: Lyuze, Casshern Sins

Group A-11
Voting for: Kimura, Azumanga Daioh

Group A-12
Voting for: Edel, Princess Tutu

Definitely IMO the best of Tutu's supporting cast in the tournament, hopefully she will go far.

Group A-13
Voting for: Reiko Natsume, Natsume’s Book of Friends

After reading the guide and the recent manga review, I might have to check this series out. It sounds very unique.

Group A-14
Voting for: Renge Hoshakuji, Ouran High School Host Club

Again supporting my nominees.

Group A-15
Voting for: Ushio Okazaki, Clannad After Story

Group A-16
Voting for: Takumi Ichinose, Nana

The first match-up where I am familiar with both contenders. And it's a tough one but in the end, I'm going for the character with depth and complexity over the (albeit awesome) comedy guy.

Here we go...

Match A-1: Maes Hughes (Full Metal Alchemist)
The definite top-runner for this bracket.

Match A-2: Naru Osaka (Sailor Moon)
Hmm. A battle of characters who had their own sub-plots before returning to brief appearances. Considering there was more buildup with spoiler[her romance with Nephrite], I'm going with Naru. Regardless of who wins though, Maes will be owning the winner next round.

Match A-3: Haruka Tenoh (Sailor Moon)

Match A-4: Itoko Osakabe (School Rumble)
An easy win for Harima's cousin. Toki doesn't really do much to contribute in Princess Mononoke.

Match A-5: Nabuca (Now and Then, Here and There)
Whenever I seen Neya, I had the feeling that she was just there throughout Infinite Ryvius while the other kids pushed along things. Nabuca, on the other hand, serves as a foil to Shu's character throughout NaTHaT which should allow him to survive a few rounds.

Match A-6: Mendoza (Mysterious Cities of Gold)
Have to agree with classiczawa's assessment. The aunt from The Girl Who Leapt Through Time only seemed to be there as a nod for the girl from the original novel. Beyond that, Makoto could have likely gone through her trials without the aunt's presence.

Match A-7: Rick Thunderbolt (Oban Star-Racers)
Not only does he serve as a mentor figure and confidant to Molly/Eva during much of the show, but he's the first to come across the true nature of the Great Race of Oban spoiler[after having a scary encounter with Canaletto].

Match A-8: Nana (Elfen Lied)

Match A-9: Lt. Yamamoto (Irresponsible Captain Tylor)
Hearing he's a comical foil to the main character has me going for him.

Match A-10: Christopher Armalite (Scrapped Princess)

Match A-11: Kimura (Azumanga Daioh)
Going with the creepy teacher. But I don't think he'd be able to survive against the winner of A-12 next round.

Match A-12: Edel (Princess Tutu)
Throughout the show's first half, her cryptic hints play a big role in helping Duck/ Princess Tutu out.

Match A-13: Alex Rowe (Last Exile)

Match A-14: Renge Hoshakuji (Ouran Host Club)
Her presence leads to enough of the laughs to be found in the show, especially with her otaku knowledge.

Match A-15: Ushio Okazaki (Clannad)

Match A-16: Nabeshin (Excel Saga)
spoiler[Nabe-Hame-Ha] for the win!! Laughing

Yue Ayase, Negima franchise

Maes Hughes

Group A-2
Eri Ninamori, FLCL
vs.
Naru Osaka, Sailor Moon

Eri Ninamori

Group A-3
Haruka Tenoh/Sailor Uranus, Sailor Moon
vs.
Setsuna, Shingu: Secret of the Stellar Wars

Haruka Tenoh/Sailor Uranus

Group A-4
Itoko Osakabe, School Rumble franchise
vs.
Toki, Princess Mononoke

Toki

Group A-5
Nabuca, Now and Then, Here and There
vs.
Neya, Infinite Ryvius

Nabuca

Group A-6
Kazuko Yoshiyama, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time
vs.
Mendoza, The Mysterious Cities of Gold

Mendoza I'm familiar with both series and it's an easy choice. Mendoza is definitely a much more memorable character than Kazuko Yoshiyama. The best confirmation of this for me is the fact that during the nomination process I needed just his name and the title of the series to instantly know who he is. I didn't even need to read the write-up or look at the picture to jog my memory and The Mysterious Cities of Gold is a series I haven't seen for over 10 years.

Group A-7
Genkai, Yu Yu Hakusho
vs.
Rick Thunderbolt, Oban Star-Racers

Genkai

Group A-8
Nana, Elfen Lied
vs.
Olivier Mira Armstrong, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood

Olivier Mira Armstrong

Group A-9
Lt. Yamamoto The Irresponsible Captain Tylor
vs.
Tetsu, SaiKano

Lt. Yamamoto

Group A-10
Christopher Armalite, Scrapped Princess
vs.
Lyuze, Casshern Sins

Christopher Armalite

Group A-11
Kimura, Azumanga Daioh
vs.
Satoshi Miwa, Marmalade Boy

Satoshi Miwa

Group A-12
Edel, Princess Tutu
vs.
Oji-san, Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou

Edel My vote goes to a character with one of the most memorable lines ever There is happiness for those who accept their fate. There is glory for those who defy their fate. I consider her to be a strong contender.

Group A-13
Alex Rowe, Last Exile
vs.
Reiko Natsume, Natsume’s Book of Friends

Reiko Natsume It's a pity that her opponent is Alex. She may not be stronger than Alex but I don't think this should be a total blow-out.

Group A-14
Renge Hoshakuji, Ouran High School Host Club
vs.
Jung Freud, Gunbuster

Renge Hoshakuji

Group A-15
Lory Takarada, Skip Beat!
vs.
Ushio Okazaki, Clannad After Story

Lory Takarada
Most of the time Lory is a Comic Relief, but he occasionally gives the main characters good advice or support them in their attempt to become actors. Kyoko can work in the same agency as Ren due to Lory's eccentricity, he even created LoveMe Section especially for people like Kyoko, so in a way he is responsible for their becoming closer.

I'm so sad that I cannot use arguments from the manga where Lory is blatantly plotting to get Kyoko and Ren together.

Group A-16
Nabeshin, Excel Saga, et al.
vs.
Takumi Ichinose, Nana

Takumi Ichinose

Group A-1
Maes Hughes, Fullmetal Alchemist franchise
vs.
Yue Ayase, Negima franchise

Yue's a decent character for being in this tournament, but Maes Hughes just overpowers him. He should be hard to beat for at the least the first few rounds.

Group A-2
Eri Ninamori, FLCL
vs.
Naru Osaka, Sailor Moon

Although she deserves to be here, I never saw Eri has having long-term competitive potential. Naru is a good enough candidate to knock her out.

Group A-3
Haruka Tenoh/Sailor Uranus, Sailor Moon
vs.
Setsuna, Shingu: Secret of the Stellar Wars

I have seen only a little of Shingu and none of the SM eps involving Sailor Uranus, so I'm going completely on the Guide entries here. Sailor Uranus impressed me much more.

Group A-4
Itoko Osakabe, School Rumble franchise
vs.
Toki, Princess Mononoke

Toki is a good enough character to be competitive here, but I don't see her having long-term potential, either.

Group A-5
Nabuca, Now and Then, Here and There
vs.
Neya, Infinite Ryvius

Not a shred of doubt here. Nabuca is, at worst, one of the two strongest candidates on this side of the group. What he symbolizes in NTHT (see my comments in the Guide entry) is vital to the quality and play-out of that series.

Group A-6
Kazuko Yoshiyama, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time
vs.
Mendoza, The Mysterious Cities of Gold

Not familiar with either - and I don't see either beating Nabuca next round anyway - but I've seen slightly better arguments for Mendoza so far.

Group A-7
Genkai, Yu Yu Hakusho
vs.
Rick Thunderbolt, Oban Star-Racers

Again, not familiar with either. Both of them seem like they play fairly similar roles, so picking between them is hard. I went with Genkai because I had to pick somebody.

Group A-8
Nana, Elfen Lied
vs.
Olivier Mira Armstrong, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood

Olivier sounds like an interesting character, but I know Nana (haven't seen that far yet into Brotherhood) and agree that her serving as the proof that Diclonius are not inherently evil is a critical contribution to EL. That's enough to win here.

Group A-9
Lt. Yamamoto The Irresponsible Captain Tylor
vs.
Tetsu, SaiKano

This is a tough one, as Lt. Yamamoto sounds like a competitor, but I wouldn't have nominated Tetsu if I didn't think he was capable of winning a round or two.

Group A-10
Christopher Armalite, Scrapped Princess
vs.
Lyuze, Casshern Sins

No question for me here. Christopher Armalite is the most important character in SP after the Casull siblings, as his story impact is both extensive and varies as the series progresses. Seeing him gradually modify his views and thinking over the course of the series is quite refreshing.

Group A-11
Kimura, Azumanga Daioh
vs.
Satoshi Miwa, Marmalade Boy

I'm giving Kimura the benefit of the doubt here, as I know he's a popular pick, but he's one of the high-vote-getters who I don't expect to see around in the later stages.

Group A-12
Edel, Princess Tutu
vs.
Oji-san, Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou

While not my favorite supporting character from that series, Edel unquestionably has an important part in its first half. That's enough for a win here. (And I'll see what I can do about Oji-san's pic, which looked fine last night. . .)

Group A-13
Alex Rowe, Last Exile
vs.
Reiko Natsume, Natsume’s Book of Friends

Going with Alex Rowe for the moment, though I'm able to be convinced otherwise here.

Group A-14
Renge Hoshakuji, Ouran High School Host Club
vs.
Jung Freud, Gunbuster

Seen both, and honestly, I thought Jung was a weak choice for the tournament. Renge has a bigger impact (even though she doesn't appear nude, unlike Jung), so she gets my vote.

Group A-15
Lory Takarada, Skip Beat!
vs.
Ushio Okazaki, Clannad After Story

This seems to be one of the bigger battles so far, but for me, the choice is clear. Ushio was integrally involved in one of the most powerfully emotional scenes I've ever seen in anime, and really, it's not an exaggeration to say that her birth in the anime changes everything from that point out. Can't have a bigger story impact than that without actually becoming the main character.

Group A-16
Nabeshin, Excel Saga, et al.
vs.
Takumi Ichinose, Nana

Takumi is an intriguing choice that I might have voted for over 90% of the rest of the competition in this round, but Nabeshin is just too effective in what he does in his appearances for him to be denied this early.

Group A-1
Maes Hughes, Fullmetal Alchemist franchise
vs.
Yue Ayase, Negima franchise

Maes Hughes has a strong presence and makes a strong contribution to the plot.

Group A-2
Eri Ninamori, FLCL
vs.
Naru Osaka, Sailor Moon

Feeling tepid about both, but I will give the nod to Eri for leaving a more dramatic impression as a supporting character, and has the edge in spunk and style. Please don't blindly vote for characters that happen to belong to very iconic series as I see her as far weaker than the other Sailor Moon contender in this tournament.

Group A-3
Haruka Tenoh/Sailor Uranus, Sailor Moon
vs.
Setsuna, Shingu: Secret of the Stellar Wars

The guide entry for Sailor Uranus really sealed the deal for me.

Group A-4
Itoko Osakabe, School Rumble franchise
vs.
Toki, Princess Mononoke

---Vote Change---

Itoko Recent arguments, but I still only consider Itoko to be average at best. From the comments, Toki appears to be weaker than this.

Group A-5
Nabuca, Now and Then, Here and There
vs.
Neya, Infinite Ryvius

Nabuca gets my vote, but I honestly never thought that the depth of the characters was NTHT's strength. Also while Nabuca is a perfect counter for the lead, I felt that he was rather for flat for character that comes close to being a semi-main character in the show, while I admit a case be made that he is supporting and definitely not the central lead, but I don't plan on voting for him in the long term.

Group A-6
Kazuko Yoshiyama, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time
vs.
Mendoza, The Mysterious Cities of Gold

Her ability to mentor and guide the lead made a lasting impression one me when I watched the movie. Kazuko also makes a very important contribution that unravels around the final climax of the movie while coming off as natural and not at all melodramatic. While the support for Nabuca seems solid, I believe she will at the very least give him a run for his money.

Group A-7
Genkai, Yu Yu Hakusho
vs.
Rick Thunderbolt, Oban Star-Racers

Going with Rick based on what I heard during the nominations phase, but I think that both are doomed in the long term unless a compelling argument is made.

Group A-8
Nana, Elfen Lied
vs.
Olivier Mira Armstrong, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood

Honestly, Nana's character rubbed me the wrong way, and her character served more as plot point and a message that all of her kind are not evil than as a stand alone strong supporting character. The way emotional subtlety was addressed in that series also prevents me from giving her my support. From what Abunai wrote, Oliver Miria Armstrong seems to be a worthy choice as well. From what I have seen Nana is almost more of symbol that proves that all of her kind are not evil than an actual three-dimensional character, which is ironic because the series tries to make her seem human even though she is not.

Group A-9
Lt. Yamamoto The Irresponsible Captain Tylor
vs.
Tetsu, SaiKano

Have seen and loved both series, but I can say without a doubt that Lt. Yamamoto is the superior choice. His presence is tremendous and his impact ends up reversing the horrible morale of the crew. He is also one of the few supporting characters that has considerable growth, especially given his comic relief role. He ends making a difference by bettering his team, the Soyokaze crew. He may hail from an obscure series, but I honestly don't see him going anywhere soon, and he might just have what it takes to take a down a titan of a character who has about 20 times more popularity than him, Maes Hughes himself. I am also happy to report that he has a very well written guide entry that represents his strengths nicely. I do admit it's a shame his foe is Testu who plays a good inspirational role and deserves to win a one to two rounds against average competition, but against Yamamoto he sadly must go.

Group A-10
Christopher Armalite, Scrapped Princess
vs.
Lyuze, Casshern Sins

Convinced by Key that Christopher Armalite is the way to go. He appears to play a very important role despite being a supporting character, which is shame because the votes thus far don't seem to reflect that.

Group A-11
Kimura, Azumanga Daioh
vs.
Satoshi Miwa, Marmalade Boy

Kimura for now, but I acknowledge that he is much weaker than the number of nominations that he earned indicate.

Group A-12
Edel, Princess Tutu
vs.
Oji-san, Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou

Edel plays an essential role on Duck's quest, and has a strange and mechanical presence that is quite strong for an unfeeling doll.

Group A-13
Alex Rowe, Last Exile
vs.
Reiko Natsume, Natsume’s Book of Friends

Alex Rowe, but I am not completely convinced that he is not a main character. He plays a much more substantial role than Lavie even though most would consider her a main. I also don't like the fact that he is most remembered for one crowning moment of awesomeness when his character is so well known for being brooding and unwilling to do what is necessary at a moment's notice.

Group A-14
Renge Hoshakuji, Ouran High School Host Club
vs.
Jung Freud, Gunbuster

Renge has the clear edge in impact and the ability to grab the spotlight. However, I honestly found her humor grating, and she seemed to be just as much of an annoyance as she was a contribution to her respective series.

Group A-15
Lory Takarada, Skip Beat!
vs.
Ushio Okazaki, Clannad After Story

Lory is nice as eccentric comic relief characters go, but in terms of ability to impact the story and evoke emotions Ushio is hard to beat. She serves as an inspiration, and motivation to the central leads even though her origins are drenched with heart-felt tragedy. Unfortunately, detailed arguments for her are very prone to contain spoilers since she is such a pivotal part of her series.

Group A-16
Nabeshin, Excel Saga, et al.
vs.
Takumi Ichinose, Nana

Nabeshin is great at grabbing attention, and he certainly has his epic moments. Sadly, his character lacks depth to back up his tremendous impact as a supporting character.

Group A-1
Maes Hughes, Fullmetal Alchemist franchise
vs.
Yue Ayase, Negima franchise

As far as I am concerned Maes Hughes is the clear statistical favorite for this group, which easily enough to score him a first round win.

Group A-2
Eri Ninamori, FLCL
vs.
Naru Osaka, Sailor Moon

Was planning on voting for her foe, but I really don't feel like I can vote for a Sailor Moon character when a well-known avid fans of the show like Marie-Antoinette even admits she is not the best.Eri for now.

Group A-3
Haruka Tenoh/Sailor Uranus, Sailor Moon
vs.
Setsuna, Shingu: Secret of the Stellar Wars

The stronger of the two Sailor Moon supporting characters; the edge goes to Sailor Uranus.

Group A-4
Itoko Osakabe, School Rumble franchise
vs.
Toki, Princess Mononoke

Itoko

Group A-5
Nabuca, Now and Then, Here and There
vs.
Neya, Infinite Ryvius

Nabuca seems to be the general consensus, but I personally disliked his character despite knowing that his role was a needed one. I also feel that he may be a main character. While far from an authoritative source, MyAnimeList has him listed as a main, and I would agree after watching the series.

http://myanimelist.net/character/1667/Nabuca

Group A-6
Kazuko Yoshiyama, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time
vs.
Mendoza, The Mysterious Cities of Gold

Kazuko is an easy choice for me, and I like how well integrated her character is a part of the story, and I found her character to be apart of a clever nod back to other source material.

Group A-7
Genkai, Yu Yu Hakusho
vs.
Rick Thunderbolt, Oban Star-Racers

Voting for Rick based on arguments despite being from the far more obscure series.

Group A-8
Nana, Elfen Lied
vs.
Olivier Mira Armstrong, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood

While I hate to use personal preference as a judge I really didn't like Nana's character. Oliver Miria Armstrong seems to have great guide and the support to match -- seems like a solid choice.

Group A-9
Lt. Yamamoto The Irresponsible Captain Tylor
vs.
Tetsu, SaiKano

I nominated Lt. Yamamoto, and it should be no surprise that I think he should win in a blowout even against above average first round competition like Tetsu. His presence shapes the attitudes of the whole crew, and he instantly likable and has a lot of depth for an anally retentive by the rules military man. I also found him to overshadow the main, Tylor, in many ways including the ability to be unintentionally funny and carry the series as a whole.

Group A-10
Christopher Armalite, Scrapped Princess
vs.
Lyuze, Casshern Sins

Lyzue based on what was said earlier during the nominations.

Group A-11
Kimura, Azumanga Daioh
vs.
Satoshi Miwa, Marmalade Boy

Kimura has presence, but I really don't think he has much depth or complexity.

Group A-12
Edel, Princess Tutu
vs.
Oji-san, Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou

I like how Edel plays the role as the cryptic, but still helpful guide to Princess Tutu.

Group A-13
Alex Rowe, Last Exile
vs.
Reiko Natsume, Natsume’s Book of Friends

Like Alex Rowe's character, but I think he could be considered at least a borderline main character, again MyAnimeList agrees with me.

http://myanimelist.net/character/2507/Alex_Rowe

Group A-14
Renge Hoshakuji, Ouran High School Host Club
vs.
Jung Freud, Gunbuster

Annoying as hell, but I admit Renge has an ability the steal the scene right away. Only problem is that whenever she appears I want her to go away.

Group A-15
Lory Takarada, Skip Beat!
vs.
Ushio Okazaki, Clannad After Story

Vote Change

Thinking back, Ushio character seems like the catalyst that spoiler[ forced a happy ending. ] She is good at evoking some viewers emotions though. Lory acts as a good mentor, and his eccentric business man style isn't bad at generating laughs either.

Group A-16
Nabeshin, Excel Saga, et al.
vs.
Takumi Ichinose, Nana

Another classic scene stealer Nabeshin is a worthy pick.
