So does anybody else like this series? I think its hilarious and has a slice of life genre to it. Yesterday i got this sudden urge to read it having not read it since like last year and i really love it. I'v finished up through volume 3 and i love (not really a spoloir)spoiler[when yotsuba's at the firework festival thing and she's sleeping and when the firseworks go off she shoots up with her weird funny darkened eyes and goes AHHHH!! Are we under attack.]
So what are your opinions on it. ![]() |

Definitely one of my favorite scenes.
Not too long ago I bought (and read) vol. 4, so now I'm finally beginning to catch up with the releases. Though I don't reread it as much as Aria, I can't help but smile through the whole volume... then I feel like going outside. ![]() I'm never expecting anything to happen in each volume, like a new character or dramatic plot twist, but I look forward to it just as much as -- if not more than -- any other series. |

It's one of the best manga legally available in English. Yotsuba, Fuka and Jumbo are all awesome, as are Azuma's perfect capture of innocence and comedic timing.
I want to know what the hell is up with volume six, though. Did ADV lose the license after their recent problems? Distribution issues? What gives? |

Me, too. I think all ADV manga is on hold right now, because the last time I checked the latest volumes of Gunslinger Girl don't have a release date either. I just hope we hear an announcement soon. Yotsuba&! is definitely one of my favorite titles, too. Yotsuba reminds me a lot of my nieces. They have the same energy and "full speed ahead" attitude to whatever they're doing at that moment. That just adds to my enjoyment, because I read Yotsuba's adventures and know that my nieces did something similar. The Ayases make good straight men to Yotsuba's behavior, but my favorite character is probably Jumbo. I like his easygoing attitude, that he's willing to drop everything to take the kids on one adventure or another. His interactions and competitions with Koiwai are too funny. |

I think the series only has 6 volumes in Japan right now, and 6 only showed up a few months ago, so maybe they're still working on it. Claymore has the same problem- they caught up to the JP version a while back, so the volumes have slowed to a crawl. I could be wrong, though. I only saw the latest JP volume a few months back, and my memory's a little foggy. |

I just looked it up on amazon.jp, and it has up through vol. 9 listed for sale. Amazon.com lists ADV's vol. 7 as "currently unavailable." Yotstuba&! vol. 6 still has a Feb. 28, 2008 release date on it, but Amazon says "sign up to be notified when this becomes available." Rightstuf has a release date of Dec. 12, 2012, which as I understand it is the site's way of "We don't know." I'd really hate for Yotsuba to be dropped, again. I'm hoping that this is just a lingering effect from ADV's issues a few months ago. -Murph |

Uhhh... well, that explains it. I was obviously looking at it upside-down. ![]() |
