Is anyone else concerned about those black and white cards that keep saying that Big O's ratings are getting so low, that AS might have to pull it off the air?

No, not really. They would never outright pull The Big Ofrom the schedule. Since they paid for it, they'll still try to get their money's worth. They'd simply air it in a less prominent timeslot. Further, don't trust ratings information from last week. Nielsen hasn't even released the report, likely because the blackout rendered them void.

the way they're airing it sucks, of course the ratings are bad.
this whole "once a week" crap is annoying. what the hell? this aint Japan. put it on weekdays. no one's gonna miss seeing Cowboy Bebop for the twenty millionth time. don't get me wrong it's one of my all time favorite animes, but it's time for it to go.

The once a week airings have nothing to do with the ratings. The Big O is actually doing okay in ratings for an anime. Adults in America, on the whole, aren't very receptive to animated drama as of yet, thus the ratings won't be great. The standards for action show ratings are lower than for other shows, and by those standards, The Big O is doing about average. And there is still a chance for it to do better. It's got what is arguably the best timeslot on the block and they've been promoting it heavily.

I post on Adult Swims boards alot and there are a suprising number of people posting that they watched Big-O back when it was edited on Toonami midnigfht run and didn't care for it. Now they have seen the unedited version and love it.
And there are alot of people praising the show. I think the numbers are good for a animated show in a prime time slot. I do wish it was on 5 days a week so I didn't have to wait a whole week for the next episode.

I've noticed that The Big O often doesn't grab people at first. I didn't like it much until episode 4, then something snapped and I loved it.

I wouldn't worry about them cancelling the unaired new episodes of Big O. The ratings would have to be totally in the toilet for them to even think of such a move. And they aren't. The worst that could happen is that they decide against making any additional Big O episodes. But the jury's still out on that question. Meanwhile, I love it. Yay, Big O!! (^_*)

It might have just a joke. They might be pulling some legs, yanking some chains, getting your goat, other sayings for making a joke. But, who knows.

I agree. I have a hard time believing that, after going through the trouble of getting it made, CN would actually cancel Big O.
