Ok, i just got my samurai x dvds (to replace the booted ones) and i was noticing that when Kenshin spoiler[fought the 3 assassins, one of them, the one with the claws, gets away and dosent die]... who is he?

Also at the end there is a fight between spoiler[Kenshin and....im bad with names....the guy becomes a police officer....any one know how the fight turns out?]

And this has probbaly been argued before; people hate reflections. Now, when i first saw the DVD on the shelves i thought it would be about Kenshins son, Kenji.

So then i got to thinking, should there be an OAV about Kenji and Yahiko? maybee they should go on an adventure? spoiler[after Karu and Kenshin die?]

And should there be an OAV about the 10 year gap between the OAV and TV Series?

Read the manga. You'll see him again.

Saitou Hajime. Um.. have you seen the TV series? If not, you definately need to check out the Kyoto arc (subbed, of course Wink).

No. Because:

spoiler[ Kenshin and Kaoru ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO DIE.]

I'm sure it'd be as episodic and fillered as the Tokyo arc, only if there was a backstory, the only difference would be Kenshin having his adventures with people, other than Kaoru, Yahiko, Sano, and the rest.

It's over. I'm sorry. Please read the manga for closure. Wink

Well they did, so suck it up... Rolling Eyes

Yes I'm sure people thought that Mobile Suit Gundam was over after it finshed, along with DBZ after Freeza, and when the Kenshin series was complete.... point is....IS IT POSSIBLE FOR THERE TO BE ANY MORE SAMURAI X OAV'S?...thats all. Could any unanswered questions be answered with some short OAV's or movies?[/quote]

It's a draw. That was just one of many of their fights. Saitou continues serving with the Shinsengumi and well, the rest is specualtion much like Kenshin's 10 years after the Bakumatsu.

Sure, they could. If you can get Nobuhiro Watsuki to approve it, then maybe we will see something. But since he disowned Seisouhen and the Meiji arc didn't fair too well in ratings, then I doubt we'll see anything soon, but you never know, right? Razz

I was wondering the same thing, actually. Where does Kenji go from here, and what it is that they do? Does he get into his own wandering adventures, or does he settle down?

It'd be fertile ground for a few more adventures at least.

But, since Tony K. did mention that Nobuhiro Watsuki would have to approve any further stories, it probably won't happen. Sad

Still...

Well, the thing is, an OVA focusing on Kenji & Yahiko would either be really boring or annoyingly pointlessly angsty depending on how they approached it.

Going by Watsuki's Kenshin (y'know...the real one), Yahiko & Kenji likely lived very dull & uneventful lives once the series ended. Kenji, if I remember right, took up Kamiyu Kasshin Ryuu (Seishouhen overlooks the fact that spoiler[a Hiten Mitsurugi Ryuu master never takes on more than one apprentice]), but that doesn't necessarily mean he went out and fought anyone. And odds are, he didn't. Same with Yahiko; again, if I remember right he became a teacher under Kaoru, and inherited the sakabatou, but the best he had were a couple odd adventures that barely qualify for TV series filler (Yahiko no Sakabatou one-shot manga chapter, for example).

Going by Seishouhen's Kenshin (where we see spoiler[a pathetic shell of a man wallow in self-loathing until he wills himself to death of illness...I refuse to acknowledge this waste of a person as Kenshin, by the way, as Kenshin ultimately overcame tragedy]), they would likely get involved in some sort of espionage bit where they spend more time crying about there inner pain and being inexplicably pissy towards others than actually doing anything. That is, after all, how the director of Seishouhen utterly destroyed Kenji's character by portraying him as.

Couldn't there be something made about spoiler[Sojiro's wandering]? It would be cool to see what happened to him.

Now that I'd pay to see. Actually, wasn't Watsuki considering doing a manga about this at one time?

I thought that something like it would happen in Yahiko no Sakabatou, but, since it looks like it was only one book I guess it won't happen. Crying or Very sad

You're missing more if you dont read books without pictures.

go to your local bookstore and pick up an book by H.P. Lovecraft. he was a short story writer whom lived around 1890-1937. You will be scared.

But, maybee i am missing out by not reading magnas. but is there a realy difference between the climax of the episode and magna? they may just have different story lines to get to the same Climax.

And i did think about reading peacemaker, just to see if it was good enough so i might buy the dvds.

Firstly, please learn to spell "manga" correctly. Secondly, try actually giving it a chance before pulling the holier than thou act, okay? The whole "I read novels, I'm too big for your kiddy picture books" act is wildly ignorant and closed-minded.

Hmm, I recall the manga ending when Kenji was really too young to take up any style, but it has been some time since I read Kenshin.

spoiler[Technically Kenji was never accepted as an apprentice as I recall - Hiko told Yahiko that the Hiten Mitsurugi Ryuu would die with him. He trained Kenji, but never intended to pass down the Mitsurugi style.]

It is interesting that someone who obviously appreciates anime would view manga like that - the snide remark is rather ironic. Most people who judge anime out of hand do so solely on the premise that it's "just cartoons", after all.

Whatever gave you the impression that someone who reads manga does not read normal novels?

I'm not a Seishouhen fan myself, but it wasn't as bad as most people make it out to be - well, not entirely, anyway Smile

It was in either Yahiko no Sakabatou or one of Watsuki's post-series epilogues. spoiler[Kenji was just a baby by the end of the manga, yes, but the supplemental stuff that came afterwards supposedly has something about him taking up Kenjutsu.]

Yes. Considering the manga ended completely different than the anime, you're going to have big differences around the middle of the series. It's not a matter of having the same storyline to get to the same ending...it's the fact that the two formats had completely different endings.

You do realize that ADV only released the second half of the Peacemaker Kurogane manga, right? So...there are discrepancies between the manga and the anime as well.

You keep spouting H.P. Lovecraft and wonder if you've ever read anything other than him. (the Taimashin manga is something that you'd want to check out since you're such a Lovecraft fanatic)

Keep in mind that, contrary to popular belief, people who read manga do actually read pictureless books. We're not stupid for reading comic books and we're not smarter for reading normal novels. You sound like one of those forum parrots who tell people their minds are lazy because they watch anime dubbed. Please, leave your closed-minded attitude at the door.
