Manga creator Kouji Seo (A Town Where You Live, Suzuka) is launching a new series called Fūka in this year's 11th issue of Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine on February 12. The magazine is making the announcement in the 10th issue on Wednesday.
The protagonist Yū Haruna moves into a town and meets a strange girl named Fūka (whose name has kanji characters for "wind" and "summer"). This girl who is like a summer wind possesses a mysterious power to attract people.
Seo is not only launching his Fūka manga on February 12, but also ending his Kimi no Iru Machi (A Town Where You Live) manga on the same day. A Town Where You Live is ending with an expanded 35-page chapter with a color opening page, while Fūka is starting with a 44-page chapter with a color opening page. In addition, the cover of the magazine issue will have a collaborative illustration of both Fūka and A Town Where You Live. Moreover, the magazine is promising an "unprecedented super-big present" for readers.
In addition to Gonzo's television anime adaptation that aired last year, A Town Where You Live manga also inspired four original video anime volumes, including one that will adapt the manga's final chapter.
