A Town Where You Live Manga to Bundle 2 New Anime DVDs
posted on by Egan Loo
This year's 44th issue of Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine is announcing on Wednesday that the next two volumes of Kouji Seo's A town where you live (Kimi no Iru Machi) manga will both bundle original anime DVDs. Both DVDs will reunite the staff and cast from the ongoing television anime from the studio Gonzo.
The limited edition of the 26th manga volume will include an anime adaptation of the popular special flashback chapter "Uchi ga Kita Machi" (The Town Where I Arrived). (The original chapter was published in the manga's ninth volume.) The story reveals how Haruto, Akari, and Takashi first met during childhood, and serves as a prologue to the television anime.
The 27th limited-edition manga volume will include a special anime episode produced in full cooperation with Seo. The 26th manga volume will ship on January 17, 2014, while the 27th volume will ship on March 17, 2014.
The manga follows Yuzuki Eba, a girl who suddenly moves from Tokyo into the countryside home of a high school boy named Haruto Kirishima. Seo launched the school romantic comedy in Weekly Shōnen Magazine in 2008 after ending his earlier Suzuka manga in the same magazine in 2007. In addition to Gonzo's current television anime, the manga already inspired two earlier original video anime volumes.
