Japan's Animation TV Ranking, August 2-8

GeGeGe no Nyōbō (Spooky Wife), the live-action television drama adaptation of an autobiographical essay book by GeGeGe no Kītarō author Shigeru Mizuki's wife Nunoe Mura, ran on Wednesday, August 4 at 8:00 a.m. and earned a 21.3 rating.
The newest live-action adaptation of Machiko Hasegawa's Sazae-san family manga ran a second 144-minute summer vacation special on Sunday, August 8 at 6:30 p.m. The special included the Sazae-san anime and earned an 16.5% ranking as the #3 top-rated drama of the week. 33-year-old actress Alisa Mizuki starred as the title housewife.
The second live-action television series based on Satoru Hiura's Hotaru no Hikari women's romance manga aired on Wednesday, August 4 at 10:00 p.m. with a 15.3 rating.
Mamoru Hosoda's Summer Wars film had its television premiere on Friday, August 6 at 9:00 p.m. as the #1 film of the week. It garnered a 13.1 rating on NTV, similar to the 12.6 rating that Evangelion: 1.0 You Are [Not] Alone (Evangelion Shin Gekijōban: Jo) anime film garnered when it aired last summer. (Both films ran on NTV and featured Yoshiyuki Sadamoto as the character designer.)
Masahiko Murata's Naruto Shippūden: Hi no Ishi o Tsugumono, the third Naruto Shippūden film based on Masashi Kishimoto's manga, ran on Friday, August 6 at 1:30 p.m. with a 2.3 rating. The fourth film, Naruto Shippūden: The Lost Tower film opened in Japanese theaters on July 31.
