Oh, they are on point with the art, and several of those location frames are seared into my brain from the manga, so it's definitely looking like a much more direct adaptation than we've ever remotely gotten. Most importantly though, none of this Tachikoma nonsense, we're getting proper Fuchikoma finally.

I hope they keep Manga Motoko's personality intact if they're really going for the manga this time around. She needs to have the blend of goofball but serious when it comes to it.

Unless they go with a completely new cast, it's most likely gonna be Sakamoto Maaya. She voiced young Motoko in S.A.C and was the Major in Arise. |

Thought Godzilla SP had a really cool concept let down by a lot of padding where characters dissonantly act like it's no big deal that the apocalypse is basically unfolding around them, giving the whole thing a very sterile feeling. Here's to Toh EnJoe maybe injecting a little humanity into his scripts, because it'd be an even worse crime to write manga Motoko as boring and clinical

Can't say the writer's resume gets me excited for the show. Then again every entry after 2nd GIG has been lacking.

Man, it's gonna be so weird not to hear Atsuko Tanaka as the Major or William Frederick Knight as Aramaki.

Maybe. Can’t take away what was great about the original series and with Fire Force ending next year, it could lead to a remake of Soul Eater |
