You know, I found myself liking that Uchimura was just some guy from start to finish. We get so many, "my lousy sounding skill is actually OP" that it was kind of nice that Uchimura never gets like that. Heck, the guy can't even do magic on his own.

I'll give it a bit of a bonus point for making the ladies extra pretty even though the rest of it is kind of bland.

thats because this season was more or less an intro/prologue to the whole storyline. it gets interesting later on!

but unfortunately, just like with fruitmaster, you will need to buy the source materials to know more!

not to mention that this kind of isekai isnt new. there is also HOW A REALIST HERO REBUILD THE KINGDOM where the MC (souma kazuya) is anything but overpowered!

hell, his living poultergeist can only move things like his master mascot doll. its anything but OP! especially when compared to the former queen of elfredeen (and current mother in law) whose dark magic powers can put future trunks to shame or even the wolf girl tomoe!

I know this is a stereotypical thing to say, but it’s unfortunately true, the best stuff comes after where the anime ends.

Yeah, a shame because it sounded interesting but I stayed long enough to find out it wouldn't be and nope'd out. Guess I didn't miss much...

I don't think it was exceptional or amazing but as far as Isekai go I thought it was overall decent and at least tried to go for something different. The cast were solid, the production values were not the worst, and there was some interesting stuff.

I also think Uchimura is an effective protagonist thanks to his background, how he applies it, and his enthusiasm to put himself to work for the benefit of the kingdom. Plus Yuki Ono's vocal performance.

Though I feel like the show was at its strongest whenever Ulmandra was around and actively involved in the plot. Not only because she was Best Girl but just that she made things more lively and fun, even though her constant misunderstandings over her relationship with Uchimura and how he doesn't respond to her feelings became less funny and more sad over time.

Also, the whole concept of a mind palace izakaya is pretty cool.

I hate how often this happens.

The intro sounded like Kirby's victory dance. So that was always a nice moment of cheer for me while watching this show.
