posted on by Egan Loo
The March issue of Kadokawa Shoten's Asuka fantasy magazine has announced on Saturday that three manga series will launch in the next issue on February 24, including a new Evangelion manga. Takumi Yoshimura is drawing Shin Seiki Evangelion: Ikari Shinji Tantei Nikki (Neon Genesis Evangelion: Shinji Ikari's Detective Journal) in collaboration with Evangelion's anime studios Gainax and Khara. The comedy re-imagines Shinji Ikari, the main character of the Evangelion story, as a detective. Yoshimura previously drew the manga adaptation of Shū Miyazaki's Kami-sama Game light novels in Asuka.
The next issue of Asuka is also launching Para Labo, a collaboration by manga artist Kaine Akizuki and story writer Hajime Inoue with a radio program on the Animate.tv website. Akizuki's work has appeared in the official anthology manga for the Haruhi Suzumiya franchise. Nori Kazato is starting the Futsumashi na Yome Desu ga. (I Am a Exorcist Wife but.) manga about a female beast exorcist and a poor high school boy. Kazato drew Kei Amekawa's Adarushan no Hanayome story for Kadokawa Shoten's Beans Ace magazine.
After a short break, Kiyo Kyujyō is resuming the manga adaptation of Sunao Yoshida's Trinity Blood light novels in the next Asuka issue as well.
