Japanese Animation Blu-ray Disc Ranking, September 28-October 4 (Updated)

According to the Oricon survey firm and the animeanime.jp website, Bakemonogatari's first Blu-ray Disc (BD) volume sold about 29,000 copies in its first week to top the charts. That makes it the #2 television anime BD in first-week sales, behind the first K-ON! volume (33,000 copies) and above the first Macross Frontier volume (22,000 copies). The first Bakemonogatari volume also sold 15,513 DVDs.
Yutaka Yamamoto's Black Rock Shooter -Pilot Edition- video with computer-synthesized vocals by Hatsune Miku sold 6,000 copies, despite being released by a non-traditional home video distributor (Good Smile Company). Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood #2, Darker than BLACK - Kuro no Keiyakusha- Blu-ray Box, and Eden of the East Vol. 3 each sold about 4,000 copies.
Crows Zero II, Takashi Miike's second prequel film based on Hiroshi Takahashi's Crows fighting manga, debuted at #2 with 7,000 copies. Miike's first Crows Zero film followed at #9. Yatterman Tenko-Mori Blu-ray, the deluxe version of Miike's live-action film adaptation of the Yatterman anime, dropped from #1 to #4 in its second week on SoundScan Japan's chart. The IDOLM@STER 4th Anniversary Party Special Dream Tour's!! (Kari) Blu-ray release landed at #5.
