Japanese Box Office, August 8-9

Kamen Rider Decade the Movie: All Riders Vs. Great Shocker opened at #1 on Kogyo Tsushinsha's Japanese box office chart during the August 8-9 weekend. According to Box Office Mojo, it took in US$5,012,116 on 345 screens.
Kunihiko Yuyama's Pocket Monster Diamond & Pearl: Arceus Chōkoku no Jikū e, the 12th film in the Pokémon anime franchise, slipped from #2 to #3. It earned US$2,131,149 on 366 screens in its fourth weekend to add to its total of US$34,114,842.
Gokusen the Movie, Tōya Satō's live-action theatrical film based on Kozueko Morimoto's Gokusen school comedy manga, dropped from #6 to #8 in its fifth weekend. It earned US$1,173,468 on 409 screens for a gross-to-date of US$27,289,394. After three television series, Yukie Nakama is reprising her starring role of Kumiko "Yankumi" Yamaguchi, the high school teacher with yakuza ties, one last time for the film.
Naruto Shippūden: Hi no Ishi o Tsugumono, the third Naruto Shippūden anime film based on Masashi Kishimoto's Naruto ninja manga, fell from #5 to #9 in its second weekend. It added US$953,909 on 266 screens to its gross-to-date of US$4,885,340.
Mamoru Hosoda's Summer Wars film also dropped from #7 to #10 in its second weekend. It earned US$989,758 on 127 screens to add to its total of US$3,920,463.
Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance (Evangelion Shin Gekijōban: Ha), the second anime film in Hideaki Anno and Khara's four-part theatrical remake of Gainax's Evangelion television anime series, dropped from #8 off the chart in its seventh weekend.
