We probably should start digging the grave and preparing the headstone.

^This. I'm very disappointed to see not only Bakuman on hold for Queen's Blade but also the cancellation of Lodoss War for it. Looks like Media Blasters is finally hitting the end of the road.

What end of the road? Queen's Blade seems to actually be selling.

What I want to know is what does this mean for Squid Girl. I would love to see season 2 released at some point and I have to imagine it sold well if they are releasing a Blu-ray for it(Unless they like wasting money regardless) I would happily buy a season 2 set if they decided to pick it up.

Supposedly, MB couldn't get the materials needed for a BD edition of Lodoss.

The least gloomy interpretation is, I suppose, that Media Blasters has become very risk averse and chose to cancel their release of Record of Lodoss War because they couldn't be sure enough that it would earn a profit, or at least break even. It's not surprising that a company that's on very thin ice wouldn't want to release a twenty-two year old OVA and its fourteen-year old television sequel.

Queen's Blade on the other hand, is a current series that usually sells well.

This a all a bit depressing, but it also seems pretty sensible.

It's good to hear they'll dub all of QB at least. It's a terrible show, but I watched the first season in passing on Netflix, and I really enjoyed hearing Excel screeching again...hopefully she doesn't damage her vocal chords and get replaced again.

Shocked So from now on we can expect to see only shows based around the concept of big tits shaking all around.

No. I'm not depressed or bitter.

The question is, WHO will be willing to pick up LODOSS WAR now? But yes, the reason why they dropped it is partially because they wanted to do a full remaster of the series for BluRay, but Japan wouldn't allow them access to the original film materials, so... it seemed as though they were at a roadblock anyway. It is disappointing, yes, but at least Media Blasters isn't TOTALLY out of the count; if they can afford to dub QUEEN'S BLADE and not have anymore cancellations/postponed announcements like this, hopefully they'll pull through.

Seeing how I'm the one who first informed everyone about Media Blasters rescuing this in the first place, this news makes me quite sad. I sure do hope someone else picks this up and re-releases it. I have it on DVD but this is something I'll double dip on. Here's hoping someone will license rescue Dominion Tank Police too, put it on blu-ray (or a nice looking DVD anyway), fix the ending credits, and give us a ton of extra features! (hey a man can dream can't he? A man can dream...yes I am aware of how unrealistic this is...but shhhs.)
