no doubt they will.

also, OMFG ITS ABOUT TIME.

I can finally die in peace.

No wait I still need more GITS. Close though. Shana one of the few series that really stuck with me through the years for some reason. might have something to do with the amazing OST from Ko Otani or all the awesome theme songs....or the great backstories....Though it does have my most hated character in all anime ever...Sakai Yuji.

This is delightful news! Wonderful to know there is more coming. I'll add my voice to the growing chorus of "hey Funi when can we buy season 2?" (Sucks that Geneon Universal in Japan is still dragging feet.)

I just hope that when season 2 finally comes out, they'll use the same English dub cast as season 1 because that cast was extremely awesome. Janyse Jaud, Paul Dobson and Tabitha St. Germain were just fantastic. (I even read a post by a sub fan talking about how he was about to switch to subs when Dobson's intro as Alastor started playing and he liked it so much he kept watching in English.)

I'm not much of a dub fan but Alastor was pretty good...but I couldn't stand Shana. I don't think I could stand Shana if she wasn't Rie Kugimiya tho..english or japanese. It's just not Shana without Rie Kugimiya, not at all.

You are probably not alone in that sentiment, but I disagree. I love Rie, but dang, I am pretty tired of the Rie tsundere sound. I'm definitely over-exposed to it. Plus, I thought Tabitha did a fantastic job.

Huh, funny, didn't someone recently revive an old article asking about this?

...Though I try to avoid such petty feelings, I can't help but feel a little disappointed when I think of Shana getting a 2nd season license yet hear nothing about Higurashi and Story of Saiunkoku. Though I can entirely understand the reasons why (well, actually, I'm kinda surprised about Higurashi, I thought it was doing decent?), it still makes me sad. Sad

Oh well, I'm glad I got the first seasons before they went OOP.

Also, at least the Saiunkoku manga is coming out now. I'm definitely trying to keep that afloat. And I should start buying the Higurashi manga at some point. But it'll likely go OOP before I can get to that point. Laughing

So, are the novels finished? Or are we looking at an original ending here?

i believe the reason they left season 3 so long was so that it would follow the light novels the whole way through and not have an original ending, and i believe the last volume of the LNs is being released sometime soon, so they coincide the final anime series and LN releases

I have no problem with Yuji, it's Kazumi Yoshida who I detest. Her, "you can't be close to Yuji if you're not interested in him!" remark to Shana made me want to smack her upside her head. So based on her logic, a guy and girl can't be only friends? That's troll logic.

Anyway, I'm hoping this will get licensed (and a good conclusive ending, not sure if it'll be original or if they know the light novels will be concluded by then), I'm looking forward to when Season 2/OVA/movie come out on DVD.

Great, looking forward to it. I can't wait to see how it finally ends.

Now I just need a release date for Season 2, unfortunately I don't see that happening anytime soon, unless they're trying to acquire blu-ray rights or something... /dream.

Good to know we're finally getting another season, better to know the story will actually have an end.
