Hey everybody! I'm new here, and I just registered. I'm pretty new to anime, but I'm slowly becoming more and more obsessed with it. I'm currently watching Trigun on DVD, which is awesome.
Anyway, I was wondering, has there ever been any bad anime released? Of course you might think that this is in the eye of the beholder (I personally don't think DBZ is all that great, but that's just me), but what I mean is has there ever been a completely disasterous (bad story, bad characters, bad art stlye, etc.) series? I know there's a guide on this site for what to watch, but what should I stay away from? Everything I read about seems great, there's gotta be something out there that's complete junk. Thanks people. ![]() |

In my collection I have such trash as Tekken, Panzer Dragoon, Ninja Ressurection, Ninja Cadets, Real Bout Highschool, and Sword For Tuth.
Those are just the ones in my personal collection that I think are especially bad. Some others that I've seen that I thought were really bad inclue Art of Fighting, MD Geist, MD Geist II, and GenoCyber. As you said though, this is all subjective, some people may love the titles I've listed. |

Nothing I've ever seen tops the mighty Mad Bull 34 for sheer so bad it's funny-ness, though the final quarter of Marmalade Boy, which I like overall, has a version of New York City which is just as ridiculous as the Mad Bull 34 NYC, just in a different way.

To me the finer parts of DBZ were the especially the later movies
![]() But hey, I suppose it really is in the eye of the beholder. Animes from 2003 that I really detested were Mouse and Raimuiro Senkitan. Stay away, even when licensed :p |

Vampire Wars is a really bad movie; and I'm not too crazy about Goku: Midnight Eye or whatever the hell it's called.
My advice would be to do a little research on a title before you spend your hard earned money. As good as anime can be, there's a lot of garbage out there. |

Well I found Final Fantasy: Unlimited and Wild Arms to be heaping piles of flaming trash. Stay away from Mobile Fighter G Gundam, easily the worst entry in the Gundam series. And when it gets licensed (probably by Anime Works) I wouldn't look into Peace Maker Kurogane, I hated it with a passion. Easily my least favorite anime next to the F-Zero anime that aired in Japan in 2003.

By far G Gundam is a horrible piece of crap. The worst Gundam ever, I didn't like the characters, didn't like the plot, and I HATED the gundam desgins, the only one that looked like they put a little thought into was burning gundam, and that was still bad. I wasn't to keen on X The Movie, although I do like to watch it for the giant amount of violence in it.

I'd like to say that I myself detest Love Hina Again. I don't know what they were thinking its like, lets trash a good story and put in alot of risque moments and fan service. I like my fan service as much as the next guy but i don't appreciate it when it takes precedence over the story itself. The movies are all fun stuff and the original series was great though, don't get me wrong. I save my hatered souley for Love Hina Again

Geez, I loved G Gundam. I thought it was the best AU. It was actually original & diffrent from the UC. A true AU. Something super robot fans should love. Not some dumb AU ripoff of the UC like Gundam Wing, Gundam SEED, & Gundam X. I'll admit I hated it at first but fell in love with it around episode 20.

Well, I hated Pilot Candidate and Blue Sub 6. PC stopped when it was actually getting interesting and even then it wasn't that interesting and BS6 I hated the animation, hated it.
We also have a ratings page that carries this kind of info if you want to look there. |

I liked Blue Submarine No. 6 a lot actually. If you are willing to look away from the horrible contrast between 2D and 3D you will find a pretty descent show. I never cared for 3D CGI in anime or movies so that part of BS6 I didn't like but the 2D animation in there is great. |

now here is where I disagree BSn6 showed that even though the had a strong contrast between normal aniamtion and CGI the show can still look beautiful. Blue Submarine is Beautiful to me! But the most trash anime is Ninja Ressurrection in my opinnion. |

I saw Voltage Fighter Gowcaizer at Showtime once. It was by far the worst thing I have ever seen. Director Masami Obari decided that he needed more Mai Shiranuis in his anime, and the result is this show. To sum it up: Bad Dub. Bad Story. Bad Breast Jiggle Physics (e.g. Girl looks one way, breasts look the the other). Just Plain BAD.
