Have mixed feelings about the epilogue spanning one whole installment. It feels contrived and convoluted, especially after the devs marked Cold Steel 4 as the end of saga, which turned out to be misleading after all.
And don't get me started on the third main character. He totally goes from background character to second biggest villain to one of the main protagonists even though this is only his first time being playable.
Seriously, Falcom, I understand the desire to create unpredictable plot twists, but that's way too much.

already my GOTY...i know this game wont get even close to the sales of either FF 16 or Legend of Zelda all of which are set to be released within two months of each other, but along with Persona, LOH has been my favorite Jrpg franchise for over a decade now and i haven't been disappointed yet with any of their releases.

Yes, they said the same thing about Trails in the Sky SC right before they decided to make The 3rd as the "epilogue spanning one whole installment." This isn't unusual or unexpected, especially considering that this is an epilogue to both the Crossbell and Erebonia arcs as well as the bridge to the next phase.
Falcom will always promise more compact, self-contained storytelling and then let things run out of control. They've been doing it since Trails in the Sky was designed as a self-contained game that they then split into two...and then added a third installment. It's part of the series' core at this point.
