I had a ROFLCOPTER TO END ALL ROFLCOPTERS when I saw this in episode 5 of Zoku Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei:
http://s30.photobucket.com/albums/c337/Busted7/?action=view¤t=vlcsnap-10353.png "...like showing totally normal shows in a late-night slot, or playing deep shows with large audience appeal on Sunday mornings" I think the other show they were referring to was Higurashi, but I love how they're making fun of the fact that Eureka Seven had pretty bad ratings because it played at SEVEN AM on Sunday mornings. I was in Japan at the time I could never manage to actually watch the original airing. |

As for your post.... Higurashi no naku koro ni hardly qualifies as a "normal show". Besides that, what is the point of this thread? What are you trying to say, besides a random exclamation? - abunai |

I think the "normal" thing was sarcasm, but I'm not sure if it was referring to HNNKN anyway.
I'm saying I like how they're making (for all practical purposes) explicit references to relatively recent shows and making fun of something that probably actually bugged a lot of fans at the time. I know I didn't like how it played at 7 AM... I hardly ever got out of bed past 11. |

Likewise, airing a potentially successful animated comedy in a time slot that is regularly pre-empted by sports.
