Jokes on you. That visual satisfied me plenty.
With that said...I can't wait for more.

Gyaru fashion... is this really a trend in Japan nowadays? I got a feeling this ecchi series will certainly be a better guilty pleasure than other similar titles.

It was a trend decades ago.

No crazy amount of makeup. No super heavy use of tanning. No obnoxiously large earrings. No leopard printed tops. This ain't anything like what I know of gyaru culture, but hell if dying their hair blond and a boob job is what it takes now then it's an incredibly large improvement in my eyes.

Not as ecchi as you might think. At least the manga wasn't, I suppose they could 'spice up' the anime.

Yeah, for real though. When I think of gyaru, I think of the horrid nightmares that you can google images of from, specifically Shibuya. What I've seen in most anime that try to portray it, is typically a vast improvement over that, thankfully.

not much, just a very tame echi series, both in teh echi and the plot, if you watched netoge yome something, well, expect something tamer than that.
all the fanservice comes from her body type , and the romance, well, it's pretty tame, makes this season's miyamoto's revenge look like a rollercoaster.

There are various types of gyaru subcultures. The first two features you mentioned are characteristic of ganguro, while the latter two seem more typical of b-gyaru and related styles. In my experience when anime starring high school students feature a gyaru character she's usually a kogyaru, whose style is pretty tame and downright normal by Western standards.
