Where's the best place to order the furi kuri/flcl ost? From what I can guess, there's an official release that Anime Nation sells for $30 each, and the one from Son May that sells for about$11 Is that right, or is AN just overcharging? I don't want a bottleg CD, but I'm not looking forward to spending $60 to get vol. 1 and 2 either...

son may is a known taiwanese bootleg cd group.. which explains why the cd is so cheap. the legitimate cd is approximately $30, depending on exchange rate and such. |

Make sure Haranka is on the back. There is another one that looks the same and says OST, but has another character on it, and has only selected songs. It has the rest of the space filled with drama tracks.

you're talking about the 2nd OST. That's different from the first which is called addict I believe. Anyways I don't recomend buying cds from Anime Nation, infact I don't recomend ordering from any domestic import store! It has noting to do with Anime nation or local importers, it just cost more money!
Go to a japanese site like www.cdjapan.co.jp, www.animaxis.com, or www.amazon.co.jp (if you can handle this because it isn't in english). CDs are sold at the japanese retail price so instead of $30 they cost about $20-$24. It is a better deal and you arn't getting fakes. You can check the brands even if you want. (I don't remember if it was put out by victor, sony, or avex though). The sites are reputable too, I've ordered from them before and they are very good. |

FLCL OST1 is excellent. Pretty much all of the music is done by The Pillows (I think all but 5 or so songs on OST1). I found myself even more satisfied with an actual Pillows album. If you'd like to give it a try, Fool on the Planet is a great album... its a compilation album so its some of their best songs. Its got all the great ones from OST1 (Ride on Shooting star, Hybrid Rainbow, Little Busters...), you get "I think I can" (one of my favorites), and the full version of Carnival. The down side is you'd miss out on many songs which are presented in shorter, insturmental form on OST1 (Last Dinosaur, Beautiful Morning with you, etc). But, if you find yourself becoming a big Pillows fan (like me) you can pick up the full versions (which are awesome) on some of their other albums.

Yes, Addict rules. My favorite Pillows album is Smile. It doesn't have any tracks from FLCL but it's great stuff none the less. It's a very guitar heavy album with a lot less keyboard/synth than their other releases. You can't really go wrong with any Pillows release after 1995 (when their old Bass player/songwriter left the band).
