For some reason, in the past few days these haven't been working for me.

Make sure you don't have the "Disable BBCode in this post" option checked when you make posts. If it is always checked automatically then you probably have 'NO' for the "always allow BBCode" option in your rpofile. If that's the case just go into your profile and change this to 'YES.'
