I uh...had a little system tampering and my thing came out blank when I tried to record [AS] last night. Would someone be kind enough to fill me in (the more detail, the better) on what happened in Fullmetal Alchemist and Ghost in the Shell: 2nd Gig? [AS] changed their schedule for worse, and they don't do reruns on different days any more. Please remember spoiler tags (or put a warning), and thanks in advance for the replies!

Can you tell me the number of the FMA episode that played? I don't watch it on AS, but I can give a summary if I know the episode number. And, you might find it more helpful to check the message boards on the Adult Swim website, wherever that is. . .you'd probably get quicker/better answers from boards that are dedicated to these shows.

Last Night FMA was 41 - "Holy Mother", while GitS: SAC was Ep 31 (Ep 6 of 2nd Gig) "Excavation."
BTW, Adult Swim is numbering 2nd Gig as a direct continuation of Season 1, even though Bandai isn't doing that  .

On FMA: spoiler[Scar is still planning to take out the military to create the Philosopher's stone, but Ed gets out a letter to Mustang to tell him what's up. Mustang sends Al with Ed's pocket watch to Leore. While this is happening, Kimbly (Crimson Alchemist) and some chimeras are killing citizens to get them to fight back so the military has a reason to go in, but Scar told tham not to fight back. Some of the people are fleeing underground with Rose and Ed and that pale girl....I forget her name. Anyways, awesome battle between Scar and Kimbly until Al intervenes. Then Kimbly takes out Scar's left (non-tattooed) arm and Scar leaves a hole in the middle of Kimbly. He's not dead yet, and the scene ends with him trying to make a bomb out of Al. Underground, Ed and Rosew and the fleeing people are stopped by a wall of water adn Wrath pops out! He wants Ed's body and also reveals that the normal way to weaken a homoculus (having them close to the person they were supposed to be) doesn't work on him since he is made of that person. Wrath however is very affected by the cries of the baby Rose is carrying. Sloth shows up too, freaking out and freezing Ed (because its his mom) until Rose cries out to him. The scene ends with Wrath about to attack Rose and Ed trying to stop him.]

I watched GITS too but drunk people came staggering into my house being really loud during the middle so I missed some dialog. I still figured out what was going on, but man, that show is dialog and subject heavy.
Anyways, here goes: spoiler[So everyone is out protecting the Prime Minister except Togusa and the Chief. They find a dead body of a man they believed to be black mailing the Energy ministry for unknown reasons and is then murdered (we'll call this guy Bill since I forgot his name). Togusa goes out with a Tachikoma to the place where he made his last phone call from and found a shanty worker's village. He shows the guy picture around and finds out that the man with the scarred face (the really scary looking one from other episodes) made also been asking about the guy a few days before the guy was murdered. Togusa also finds out about Bill's fiance and tracks her down. They talk and she says that they were to be married but his visa out of refuge town was never issed because his body did not have the minimum requirements for a prostetic body. He was pissed and stopped all contact with her three months ago. They go to another place for more info when they come across some dude that knew Bill (we'll call this guy Karl). He tells them about a job where the company would give you a full prostetic body for exchange of X amount of work. So they are doing the work in a mine and they realize it is really dangerous when a hazmat-like team takes some guy out. They run for it and make it out of the mine but the doors close before anyone else escapes. Bill is determined to not let this go unpunished and blackmail's the energy department. Karl then shows Togusa and the fiance where the mine is and they go in and they find it is full of radiation from an accident. They get chased by to giant metal suit things but are saved by the Tachikoma. Togusa sends the women home but as the train leaves, he sees a newspaper with Karl's face, indicating he was dead and then Togusa calls the women but her cell phone is sitting on the ground in the bus terminal and a man in a black suit walks away.] Phew! |

I forgot an important plot aspect from the FMA episode.
spoiler[The Fuhrer (Pride), Lust, and Gluttony are talking about why the Fuhrer is not sending troops to Leore to help Scar make the philosopher's stone. He said it was an order from "the Boss." Lust and Gluttony look scared. Lust said she was going to help Scar anyways and leaves, but Gluttony does not come.] |
