These, are great, I have the 2 shelf one. I just order another 5 shelf one. These are good quality, very sturdy, yet they're light and looks really nice. Good for storing manga, artbook, text book or just regular book.

Oak Shelf

There's also ones in white.

I have some of those... I bought them for my DVDs/mangas, but now, after actually seeing them in use, I don't really like them. They aren't really space efficient. There's all this space above the items if you put them in 'correctly'. I've been thinking of trying laying things on their sides and see if that gets more to fit. Plus the shelves are just too deep for what I'm using them for, which leaves more space sitting there. I've started doubling things up on the shelves, but that annoys me as I can't see/easily get to what I have behind them. Confused

Manga/DVD storage really is pain. The shelf I have at home has three levels, but manga has a much smaller size than say, a textbook, and the empty areas are just sitting around. Maybe I can find another shelf and just stick it there. Instead of making manga style hair gel which is useless for the most part, they should make manga bookshelves or something.

Ask the folks at the local bookstore how they shelve books. And look at the shelves themselves.

I have the perfect solution at home. I'd post a picture, but I don't have a digicam right now. It's a huge wooden bookshelf with lots of small holes in vertical "rods" (one hole every 3cm), in which you can put little metall sticks. Then you have several wooden boards that fit between the rods and on the metall sticks (the metall sticks fix the boards at the height you want them). By doing this, you can change the height between all of the boards and make your manga, artbooks, dvds or whatever fit in between two boards perfectly, without loosing any space.
I hope my English was sufficiently clear to get what I mean? Anime smile + sweatdrop

It's very good actually, I wouldn't be able to tell that you're foreign.

Unfortunately I bought it somewhere in Switzerland. I guess IKEA or so should have something similar though...
IKEA! I haven't been there in a while. They usually have interesting stuff, maybe I can find some random thing there with narrow shelves. Maybe if I get a DVD rack...DVD cases are about the same height as a graphic novel.

I have adjustabe shelves too, but the thing is, I think I could make use of one more.

The point of the thread is that you can get a sturdy 5 shelf for about 22 dollars. The shelf themselfs are big enough to hold textbook as well as manga for all the college people. They are adjustable so you can put it lower if you like. But all that aside, the main factor is the price.

If want to find shelf that are mare especially for manga, than expect to pay more, like up to 50 buck.
