Ok I've been updating the English dub cast of Hunter x Hunter
from the following web site as my source. http://www.crystalacids.com/database/title/1357/hunter-x-hunter/ I'm also trying to update all the roles for the voice actors and actresses too. Does anyone want to help out? It's rather simple because the information is all there. It's just copy and paste. It's nothing difficult just tedious because so much more needs to be done. |

Speaking of the bibliography, it needs updating. It is suffering from serious link rot, and lacks the second edition of The Anime Encyclopedia. Of the dead links, the Anime LD Cyclopedia is available via the Internet Archive, and I have created a much-expanded version of Anime on DVD's Catalog Check—see here. |

Weird that the old bibliography.php was still there. I've redirected it to the correct location: animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/bibliography
And I've added D2_STATION, Shoboi Calendar and livedoor wiki. Not sure about the official titles or maintainers though. |

I do use http://wiki.livedoor.jp/radioi_34/ for data mining and crosschecking but, since it appears to be a user-contributed wiki, I do still prefer to actually enter data from the credits themselves. It does have the advantage over D2_Station for quick checks since it has search box, avoiding the google site: search rigmarole.

I've recently discovered that what ANN calls the "Catalog Check" is actually the Anime Yearly Checklist, which is a different thing, and IMHO should be relabeled. |

Otogi Zoshi article from Livedoor encyclopedia changes double-byte Latin letters to single-byte Latin letters. The lines which have affected are:

It should be easy to replace 2-byte Latin letter by 1-byte Latin letters for the tasks before starting the contribution.
For the company names this is indeed a problem. In some cases (such as this one) I added those 2-byte Latin letter names as "kanji" names of the company so that they will be "translated" automagically. But when a company gets "romanized" credits even in some Japanese sources as well as katakana credits in other Japanese sources (such as アニビレッジ = Ａｎｉ Ｖｉｌｌａｇｅ = Ani Village) then ANN's data structure (allowing only one kanji name per company) meets its limits. |

This can be done semiautomatically using the Romaji Translator at Romaji.org, or the similar translator at AnimeLab.com (http://animelab.com/anime.manga/translate)—but the latter is down again (for me at least), probably for a week or two, if past history is any guide. |
