I tried to enter the birth name "Karen Joy Morris" of Karen Mok but the input was rejected, probably because it didn't contain any Kanji.

What's the correct way of doing it? (I entered the name as "Other information" for the time being.)

It looks like that information might have been taken down though, because I don't see the name that you specified. It would seem that if name entering is designed for a specific format, then it did indeed reject it. Did you also provide a source link? Also, I believe that the names that are provided in the encyclopedia are based on how they are credited in the roles that they play. You'll probably have to inquire of an encyclopedia staff member.

She's a famous singer in the Chinese cultural hemisphere; I'll take care of the rest. Never know her song was used in anime though. Entering her kanji name in katakana (backward translated from English) is rather weird.

And if you have multiple trivial "error" reports of the same title (such as episode precision or primary/secondary/minor roles) please consolidate them in a single report. Leaving an entire page with red markings scares us away (I'm serious).

"Other information" is only visible by the submitter and staff.

I was still in the process of solving individual issues (such as the one in this thread) thus I delayed the summary report in order to not collide with your activities, as some of my "error" flags have been subject to change during the process as I found out more about certain persons (and these flag show me which entries I already handled, as confirmations unfortunately aren't shown in a separate color to the contributor).

Ahh, so that means the "other information" I contributed to herpage hasn't been made viewable to the general public? What would be the reasoning behind that?

Seriousness noted. In a related story, I mucked up the Galaxy Railways page (especially the episode list) with a bunch of small error reports. It looks like users can't un-submit reports though (or I just failed at it) so I'm just letting you know that you shouldn't fear that page. I consolidated all the episode list errors into the first episode before I found out that I couldn't delete the others.

Separate thread for Silent Möbius TV created; additional sources and precisions flagged "accurate" in order not to scare away editors.

The reasoning is that "other information" is meant for information types that I hadn't originally thought of. Then I would look at those submissions and, if warranted, transform them into new information types. The way you used it to submit body measurements is exactly how it was intended to be used.

Most people use it to enter miscellaneous comments (especially for anime), so I've kinda lost the habit to look for new information types in there. But now that you pointed it out, I took a look at other information for people and realized that there's 92 entries for "height" information. That's just as common as blood type info for idols, so I'm going to add it and see what other infotypes are worth creating.

You mean height, or blood type? I can only imagine how many of the Japanese female VAs will get their body measurements posted as well.

Some non-career VA (idols, TV or movie stars, etc.) have four detailed measurements: bust-waist-hip plus shoe sizes. Rolling Eyes

Going back somewhat to the original topic, I've changed the format of "Birth name" so it doesn't require kanji.
