You know after reading (& interacting) with some of mgree0032's threads the user started on the ANN's Anime Discussion section, I found this one to be the most non-sensical, and I have couple of questions for this user (assuming he or she is reading this):
Anyway back on topic, as I mentioned above, there are kids anime both mainstream and non-mainstream (both modern and retro) are being picked up for US release. You're not going to see these on CN. You'll be seeing this on streaming like the one I mentioned above. So did the backlash and demise of 4Kids cause the downfall of kids anime in the US? Nope, even without 4Kids, the Saturday Morning cartoon block would've faced it's demise because of streaming. This is why there's no more Kids WB, no more Fox Kids, and even Cartoon Network's website is no longer there. So that's the reason you're not seeing kids anime on Saturday Morning, and etc... The only way you can see kid's anime are on streaming like Netflix, Crunchyroll, Prime Video, etc... I mean even Netflix made an adult animated series that parodied Saturday Morning Cartoon block. All I have to say is, Saturday Morning cartoon block is not coming and it'll probably never will since the existence of streaming is now more prevalent. Also the kids that are watching Pokemon right now are probably also watching Dragonball, Naruto, One Piece, My Hero Academia, etc... If they want kid's anime, there's already enough of them on Crunchyroll, and other streaming sites out there. |

The user in question is rather focused on the period reflected in his posts. I doubt he has paid much attention to anything that came out in the last couple of decades.

I do wonder how old that user is (assuming he's an adult), or if the user is trying to trigger the whole ANN forumite by asking some of the most ridiculous questions hence why I asked that questions if he had access to Crunchyroll, Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, etc... But I'm going off topic. At the end of the day, we know that streaming would've killed the Saturday Morning cartoon block, children anime is not dead, it can be picked up on streaming like Crunchyroll, or Netflix. I still see Discotek picking up obscure non-mainstream children every now and then. So it's all good, at least they come with subtitles to help kids with above-average reading skill to boost their reading skills. |
